I saw you keep your CC folder around 5GB - how do you manage that? I always look up and am around 15GB and have been trying to cut back :(

heya @bunnyafton! the heaviest parts of my downloads folder are the deco and gameplay (mods/hacks) folder - I have TONS of deco and mods over anything else right now - after those are my defaults folder and even that isn't too bonkers.

with this, i heavily HEAVILY rely on defaults for most CAS stuff and some build/buy things so those folders are never too crazy.

it mostly comes down to having a lot of self-control and deciding what you need versus what you actually don't. i regularly go through my downloads every few months to ensure I keep it at/around 5gb.

this is a long-ish post so ill keep the rest under the cut but I want to keep this public in case it may help others too!

i come from a place where i had 15gb too but I HATED!!! how I was poorly managing it, in/outside of the game. not to mention the load times and for it to just crash? oofa, I had to put a stop to that. it eventually came to a point after years of waiting 45min-1hr for it to just crash, I was spending more time loading up than playing. my machine at the time was also shit so that didn't help at all.

the day finally came and i threw my ENTIRE downloads folder into the recycle bin and let it ALL go. i started all the way over from scratch with Waverly. i picked a theme and have been maintaining it since for Waverly. every folder is hella organized. I'm careful in what I download, I clean out recolors regularly, I compress ALL the downloads I can and its a HUGE huge huge huge ass help.

sure CC management isnt for everyone and that's totally ok - I spend a lot of time ensuring my downloads folder is organized and easy for me to maintain when I get the "itch". it goes by relatively quickly (from a few hours to a few days depending on my energy level and availability to do so) and I'm back to playing instead of waiting and hoping it doesn't randomly crash for some reason. but even if it does, it was only 5-7min so no big, try again. certainly beats waiting nearly an hour every time, I do not miss those days, oofa.

it also HUGELY helps to stick with one or two themes you REALLY like, for me its all things halloween/autumn and goth. it makes it incredibly easy on me to keep that kind of CC in my folder. i know what I like so that's what I keep around/look out for when new CC is posted! this is also why I dropped the offworld subhood - I didn't play there much in general, and I never used the CC for it outside of it so I let it go entirely reducing the weight of my downloads folder even more.

If you use round Witcher Bath tubs by @hodgekiss​ along my hot tub water default, you might have noticed a weird stripe appeared across the surface. It’s because my texture has colour gradation, and these have non-standard UVmapping. I use copper tub and wooden tub in my game so I’ve edited both (removed Jacuzzi sound FX while at it).

This is “RedNeck Hot Tub” by @hugelunatic​ - Edited water will use default textures, it has morphs and animates nicely. Other changes; improved UV-mapping & wooden steps merged with the rest.

Rubble Stone Walls - Set 2

Five Perfectly Tiled Stone Walls

These stone textures are from the Coronado Stone catalog. I have adjusted them so they tile perfectly every which way; so they work seamlessly on multi-story buildings!

I have included pictures of each wall showing the multi-story tiling and a close up detail of the stonework.

All are appropriately named, and a swatch is included in the DL file. The walls tile perfectly all 'round - so they work well on multi-story buildings. These walls are found in the "Masonry" category; and are priced at $12 each. All my walls are Mac friendly.
