The Royal Family Hosts Diplomatic Reception!

The senior members of the Royal Family have gathered at Nimben Palace for the annual Diplomatic Reception, held every June by the Queen and Prince Consort (pictured above).

In attendance, traditionally, are the senior members of the Royal Family. This year, the list included the Duke and Duchess of Exeter, the Earl and Countess of Betancourt, the Princes Charles, Robert and Benjamin, Princess Alice (attending for the first time!), the Viscount and Viscountess Angers, the Viscount and Viscountess de Vanily, Princess Katherine (attending for the first time in over a decade!), the Duchess of Carlisle, Lord Sebastian Carlisle, the Duke and Duchess of Asbury, the Earl of Barre and Lady Beatrice Asbury.

Also in attendance were Lord Nicodemo and his new husband, William Samson, although the couple made it clear that they were attending as charity representatives and LGBTQIA+ activists, not as part of the Royal Family, thus they were not included on the walk into the reception hall.

Notably absent this year was the Queen Dowager, who's private secretary released a statement saying that:

"Her Majesty, the Queen Dowager is not feeling well this evening and does not wish to get other members of her family, especially those with young children, sick. Her Majesty is doing well and will attend her engagement tomorrow night at Faircourt Hall."

Also not in attendance were Lord Chandler, the third son of the late Princess Isabel; Lady Alexandra, Princess Katherine's youngest child; and Lord Anton and Lady Leonora, the Duke and Duchess of Asbury's youngest two children.

The rest of the Royal Family is expected to gather at some point within the next few weeks for the christening of Princess Emilia of Exeter, although this remains unconfirmed both by palace sources and the family.

Ana: Of course, the day of my Silver, I find my first silver hair. 

Douxie: It looks good on you, love. 

Ana: Mhmm. Looks better on you than me. You’ve got your cane with you. You okay?

Douxie: Felt a bit unsteady earlier and it’s hurting a bit. Not as bad as it was. 

Ana: Yeah, that was something I don’t want to relive. 

Douxie: It was years ago, love. I’m fine, I promise. Better safe than sorry. Shall we? 

Ana: We shall. Are they all here? 

Douxie: Somewhere around there, mostly. Sophie was just pulling in as I came in. 

Ana: Kris’s still upstairs, isn’t he? 

Douxie: He’ll make his way down right before we leave, I know he will. He probably wants to get some quality time in before we go. Their engagement won’t be announced until Monday.

Ana: I know he’s very impatient about that. The girls? Killian?

Douxie: Also downstairs. I didn’t see Lili, but I’m sure she’s around here somewhere. Probably in the library. 

Ana: There’s a lot of people around, and I know that the library is also a very popular hangout spot for my siblings.

Douxie: You think she’s wandered off? 

Ana: She doesn't like the crowds, even if she’s related to them. I wouldn’t call it wandering off.

Douxie: Sounds like someone else I know and love.

Ana: Hmm. I’ll go find her.

Queen and Prince Consort Introduce Daughter to the World

Despite the noticeable October chill in the air, press and public gathered outside of the Queen Abigail’s Wing to catch a glimpse of the second in line to the throne, who was closely bundled to protect her from the cold. 

The couple did not stay outside for long, but posed for photos long enough for them to be beamed across the world and posted onto practically every news channel in Carrington.

The couple have not yet announced a name for their newborn daughter, but are bookies are hedging their bets on a family name, as the Crown Prince’s names all come from family members, although this is not confirmed by any sources.

Douxie: Yes? 

Officer: The situation at Nimben Palace is over. We’ve received the all-clear. The instigator has been arrested.

Ana: What happened? 

Chief: One of your supporters entered the palace. He was looking for the King and had a gun.

Ana: Maybe we shouldn’t have this discussion in front of Kristof. 

Chief: Of course.

Douxie: I’ll take him. Come on buddy, let’s go play. 

Kris: Mama…

Ana: I’ll catch you up. 

Douxie: I know you will. Come on, Kris. 

Ana: You were saying? 

Chief: One of your supporters entered the palace through one of the staff entrances. Somehow he obtained a staff uniform.

Ana: How? 

Chief: That part, we don’t know. From what he’s told us so far, he was looking for the King. We know that he made it past the safe rooms where the Queen and Princes were hiding. His target was not them.

Ana: Are they alright? 

Chief: Yes. The Queen and the Princes are fine and uninjured. He then went up to the top floor, where the King’s bedroom is and where the King was working. 

Ana: Was my father in his safe room? 

Chief: He did not see the threat. The gunman found his way inside and shot.

Ana: What? 

Chief: We came in after the fourth shot. 

Ana: Please tell me that he had a horrible aim. 

Chief: I cannot. He was gone by the time that we came in. 

Ana: What? 

Chief: The King is dead, Your Majesty. 

Ana: I see. Where is my mother?

The Queen Officially Creates the Duke of Clois and the Duke of Asbury into Princes of Carrington

The ceremony took place privately today in Nimben Palace, with only members of both Duke’s respective families in attendance. 

They shall be known respectively as His Royal Highness, Prince Hisirdoux, the Duke of Clois and His Royal Highness, Prince James, the Duke of Asbury.
