Some questions from The Silmarillion

So, I’m going thru “The Silmarillion” again and here’s some questions I have noted so far:

-When Tolkien talks about the world being round and inescapable except for death, did he have knowledge of “karma”?

-While I can understand the Elves and Men not knowing about what is to happen, wouldn’t Gandalf have known about how things were to turn out due to having been around since the song?

-what the heck is the “Imperishable Flame”? Is it the same as the “Flame Imperishable” cause it’s used both ways in the text but each seems to mean something different.

-Did Melkor ever question Eru about why he was the one Eru chose to be the bad dude?

-Still not getting why Yavanna couldn’t have made another set of trees? Yeah, I know she said she could only do it once but couldn’t she have made, I don’t know, Flaming bushes with a lesser light, instead?

-Why did Tolkien waffle on how orcs came about? 

-Speaking of which, if Melkor couldn’t “create” anything where did dragons come from?

- Is “Hithaeglir” the Misty Mountains?

-Did Tolkien ever right about things like the simarils from a non-Elven perspective?

-WHY did didn’t Melian, Thingol, and crew stay in Middle Earth and not head off to Valinor like he’d originally planned?
