run little girl! go join the dance!
your father waits with open arms
to put you on his shoulders.
go sit atop the world and see
this precious gift of sacred words
and kiss it as the circle turns
while sitting on his shoulders
you will race around the bimah
with your pockets full of candy
and your belly full of laughter
upon your fathers shoulders
go! run! while you still have time!
chase the Torah round and round!
and when you tire of running
find your father in the crowd
he will put you on his shoulders
and while the circle turns
your head above the fence
think only of these happy things
don't take my hand to pull me in
don't wonder why I do not join
and put you on my shoulders
he shemini on my atzeres until i simchas torah
Hi at the age 15 I realized that simchas torah is one of the best holidays bc my shul is weirdly not into drinking so no one is like gross drunk but there are a bunch of young single men dancing with children they know and wow I am Into MenTM
Simchat Torah in Jerusalem by Michal Meron
Hope everyone had a chag full of joy and gratitude 🙌
תּוֹרָה מִצְווֹת וּמַעֲשִׂים טוֹבִים & אַהֲבַת יִשְׂרָאֵל Happy Holidays Blessings Bet Yisrael, Amen. ♡
This month there are a TON of Jewish holidays, so I deviated from my usual one-color-per-month rule and highlighted the Jewish holidays in my monthly spread (gray is for fast days). Having the highlight go across my entire day helps me modulate the amount of stuff I plan to do that day in light of the holiday.
If you're celebrating Jewish holidays, how do you plan around them?
