Morgan/Jed
Who’s the messiest one:
Morgan. She's not messy really, just not as organized at Jedikiah (and doesn't want to be), is more comfortable with a small amount of clutter, and in general is just messier.
Who feels the most uncomfortable about PDA:
Jed. So much Jed. Morgan loves to gently needle his boundaries.
Who’s the funniest drunk:
Varies. Morgan tends to either want to play around - get frisky or dance to bad music or tickle and play. Jed tends to relax some and let his sense of humor shine. Or Morgan just gets sleepy and quiet and want to cuddle and pet her pretty darling Jed or Jed just sulks.
Who texts the most:
Jed. Left to her own devices Morgan will still have a throw away flip phone.
Who has the most embarrassing taste in music:
Morgan. And damn proud of it.
Who reads the most:
Jed. He reads books like Morgan reads people.
Who’s better with kids:
Hahahahahaha Morgan is getting a crash course thanks to the Lair but they are about equal in their level of awkwardness and "I have no idea what I'm doing".
Who’s the one that fixes things around the house:
Jed. Morgan CAN - and has - but she likes Jed to do it. It's normal (which he needs) and seeing him in worn, stained jeans and tee shirt that he does work in is a very good view.
Who’s got the weirdest hobby:
Morgan probably. The whole psychic thing.
Who cooks and who cleans up:
They are very egalitarian about it!
Roger + Jed
Who’s the messiest one:
Roger. Always has been, always will be.
Who feels the most uncomfortable about PDA:
It DEPENDS. Neither of them are giving to extreme PDA and aren't comfortable with it. But Roger's more likely to be cuddly in public, to kiss his partner, to express romantic physical affection in public.
Who’s the funniest drunk:
Both. Neither. Depends on why they are drinking.
Who texts the most:
Roger. Jed can project his thoughts but can't receive them, so Roger has to text him to answer him. Makes meetings annoying fun.
Who has the most embarrassing taste in music:
They have the same taste in music, Roger's just a little more given to loud volumes. And knows a LOT more "kids" music.
Who reads the most:
It's equal, but not always the same things. Lots of research and technical papers between them. Classics of sci-fi and classics in general. Roger's more poetry and light reading.
Who’s better with kids:
Roger, but frankly that's just experience. Jed would be good with kids if he was around them more.
Who’s the one that fixes things around the house:
Roger. Jed's the one who notices it NEEDS fixing though.
Who’s got the weirdest hobby:
Both their hobbies are weird, lbr. Roger builds bombs and devices, Jed experiments with supersoldiers.
Who cooks and who cleans up:
Roger cooks, Jed cleans up. They keep each other company during.

It had been months since she'd fled New York, months since she had betrayed Jedikiah, months since Roger had returned only to die, months since Bathory had been defeated, months since John had disappeared. Cara and Stephen had made a home in the fallen Ultra office, but Morgan hadn't been able to stay there. Marla had attempted to convince her to stay in the city, she'd guessed pretty quickly about Morgan's condition, and she had stayed for a couple weeks, but...Jedikiah was MIA, John was MIA - it didn't take much to think that Jedikiah had taken his (human) son and left the area - 'This war is no place for a child of our making' he's said. Not 'no place for a child' not 'no place for a child of mine' but not place for a child of theirs. So she'd fled, raiding the couple of cash stores she knew about and headed West. Her intent had been to go back to her parents, settle there for a while until her child was born, her body recovered, and her broken heart healed, and then figure out what to do.
But as she had traveled, she'd had her doubts, her insecurities. She had settled into New York, made a home there, had fallen hard and fast for Jedikiah and she was still in love with him. And the child growing under her heart only reminded her of that. So instead of doing the smart thing, the logical thing, and teleporting west towards home and resting for a couple days between jumps until she got home, she had wandered her way around the country, and as her pregnancy continued, she'd invented a new name, hit clinics, and then the bottom had dropped out of her world - her pulse had started creeping up, her blood pressure had started creeping up (bless whoever put those machines in pharmacies!), and then the blood tests had come back that her iron was low. It hadn't been safe for Morgan to travel, she was scared to teleport, and she'd spent three hours in a shitty motel room with a cell phone in her hands working up the courage to call Marla for advice. It wasn't until the baby kicked and made her start hiccuping that she was even aware she was crying. And the woman who would have been - should have been - something like family had answers, going from half asleep to fully awake as soon as she heard Morgan's voice. 'Stay there' she'd said. 'I'll be there in a couple days, you're probably fine, just dehydrated and stressed.' She'd explained if they were alarmed, they would have pushed Morgan to go to the hospital, not come back after resting for a few days.
So when Morgan had heard and felt someone teleport into the hotel room three days later, she'd assumed it was Marla come to collect her and hadn't stopped braiding her hair. "I'll be ready in just a minu-" The puncture in her arm stung, but it was the panic that hit more than the pain, things in the room going flying before she lost consciousness.
She'd woken up in a hospital bed, an IV taped to her arm, dressed in two gowns, one on properly, then one over it, on backwards, and socks on her feet. A fetal monitor was strapped around her belly, and the only reason she was remotely calm was being able to see heartbeat of her child.
She'd tried to pull the bedside table over and couldn't - it had taken her hours to find the D-Chips - and the cameras, and unlike a real hospital, there was no phone. Or call light. And the door was locked.
It had been weeks since she was taken.
The medical staff wasn't cruel, wasn't unkind, but they were cold. One did sit down with her for nearly two hours after Morgan had freaked out and explained to her the medical side of things. Her health, her baby's health. Had asked her if she wanted to know if she was carrying a boy or a girl - Morgan wanted to be surprised - had tried to assure her that no one was going to hurt her or her child. She didn't come back, even though Morgan asked for her. Repeatedly.
And now her due date was less than a month away. Someone had finally brought her fingerling yarn in different colors and some needles, it kept her busy but she still spent more time than she wanted to admit with her arms around her belly, silently promising an escape.
It was one of those moments, when she'd been standing pajama pants and a tank top with neither covering her skin anymore, and her arms around herself, staring down at the layette she'd managed to get - tiny shirts and gowns and onesies, tinier socks and hats, disposable diapers, flannel and knit blankets, all neatly folded and tucked into a bin when she'd heard the door unlock and someone walk in. Dress shoes, not sneakers, so she dimly thought it might be one of the doctors. She didn't bother to turn around, had taken to refusing to speak to them until they spoke to her. She didn't have much control, but what control she did have she took.
The arms that slid around her were completely unexpected. Big, strong arms wrapping around her; large, warm hands skimming over her arms, her hands, one extending just passed her hand to hold her stomach; a heavy, broad chest against her back, a body pressed up against her's. A familiar body pressed up against her's. A scent she'd ached for filling her nose.
Jedikiah hugging her tightly to his chest.
Words rushed back to her. 'I could lock you in a windowless cell.' She should be furious. Enraged. She probably would be later. But right now she could only slump back against him, hot tears prickling at her eyes. "Where have you been?"
"That should keep you quiet."
Jedikiah still hadn't really filled out as much as Roger suspected he would, and Roger still wasn't as tall as he hoped he would be, but what height advantage Jedikiah had on Roger, Roger made up for in muscle and athleticism. Not that he could do much, with Jed's hand clamped so firmly over his mouth and in doing so pinning Roger's arm to his side and leaned on him to use the brick wall to his advantage. Mentally, Roger cursed at Jedikiah but he knew his brother couldn't hear him. He tried to buck his head loose but it didn't work. Petty - but he forced his tongue out of his mouth - DAMN JED THAT'S A GRIP - and licked Jed's hand.
He heard Jed's noise of protest and felt his brother's fingers slap his cheek. Well. God Jed was overreacting. Again.
≡
Roger grunts softly when Jed's arms wrap around him, all but pinning his arms to his sides, Jed's chest against his back, his brother's jaw pressing against his cheek. He would have laughed, but his chest was still very sore. Instead he pushed back, cuddling against his older brother. "I pop a stitch, Marla's going to tan both our hides."
Goodbye.
"Jed. Jedikiah." Roger's voice is both hushed and calm. "My big brother. I love you. For the longest time you were the only stable thing I had. You saved me Jed, in ways I don't think you know. And I'm sorry to do this to you. But it's the only way I can save you too. Between us we have four kids. One of us needs to survive. And you're better at that than I am."
