Hey! I really love your take on the ML episode guide and I couldn't help but notice something from the recent American release on Darkblade. If you look at the background when Sabrina is in Marinette's room (around 9 mins in the episode) you can see a picture of Adrien from the same magazine Marinette had in the Animan episode. I think you mentioned that before when you updated your unofficial ML episode guide. I just thought I'd tell you to see you take on it~ BTW thanks for the hard work! :DDD

Good eye! I completely forgot about those posters. Le Chevalier Noir was one of those episodes where I just went “ehhhh??? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯” and stuck it wherever because it didn’t seem to fit anywhere else when it first came out, kind of like Horrificator. And then I just forgot about it because I was trying to keep the first 13 episodes separate from the latter 13. I don’t know. So far, the French, Korean, and English dubs have aired the same first 12 episodes (albeit in different orders), and it looks like EN13 is also going to be the Mime, which makes me believe there is a strict divide between the first and second halves of season 1.

Idk. All I can really say is “ehhhh??? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯” If I move Darkblade back to after Animan, it breaks the trend of France, Korea, and the US all airing the same first 13 episodes. But if I move Animan forward, I’ll have to bring Puppeteer too (because it has that new panther at the end). And if I drag Puppeteer along, then Gamer and the rest of the Ladynoir teamwork arc (that’s my name for the string of episodes that explores Chat’s insecurities: Puppeteer, Gamer, Reflekta, and Antibug) have to come along too. And if the whole Ladynoir teamwork arc moves forward, then so does Guitar Villain because there has to be an episode that introduces Fang the crocodile so that there isn’t just a random crocodile chilling in the hotel in Antibug. And then Darkblade doesn’t work well if it interrupts the teamwork arc, so it’ll have to go after Antibug, and then it won’t be in the first 13 episodes anymore, so we’re back to square one. Not to mention that I’m pretty sure Nino knows about Mari’s crush on Adrien by the end of Animan, so he probably had something to do with Adrien acting shy around Mari in Gamer, so Gamer’s going to have to come closely after Animan, which means that if Animan moves forward, we have twice as much reason to drag the rest of the teamwork arc forward too.

The posters in Marinette’s room aren’t actually that helpful anyway because sometimes they’re there because of animation errors, sometimes they’re not. And they’re already in her room in some of the episodes that came before Animan, but they’re also not there in other episodes. My viewing guide is an order people can see the show in so they don’t get confused about plot points and world building, so it’s not strictly chronological. Maybe Darkblade happens after Animan, maybe not. It’s also entirely possible that the photos of Adrien they use on the show are chosen at random, so maybe the magazine cover from Animan and the one we see in Gamer are the same picture by pure coincidence.

So yeah…ehhhh??? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
