It almost got away from me this year, but I couldn’t not take a moment to reflect on 15 YEARS today with this one. I remember parts of that first summer, even just the feeling of it, really well. As different as things are 15 years later, this summer kind of feels like that one. We are both happy and wanting to enjoy every moment together now while simultaneously knowing a big unknown change is coming in the fall (admittedly, us becoming parents is bigger than me leaving for college but you get it.) And this is where our personalities show. I will have (and had) moments of panic debating all the “what if’s” and worrying myself into a hole while he is steadfast, unquestioning, unwavering. He doesn’t worry because he knows we will be together and everything will be ok.
