Zatanna #5 - "Dniheb Eht Sniatruc" (2025)

Zatanna (2025) is an amazing Zatanna solo in pretty much every way plausible but one thing I particularly loved about it was Jamal Campbell’s Sindella-Zatanna writing. Just the way their relationship was depicted as well as expanded on mostly thematically throughout the first 4 or so issues + also keeping their early dynamic in mind, including Sindella’s “haunting” narrative & Zee’s intense feelings of abandonment + loneliness…especially Zatanna’s feeling of knowing her mother is there in whatever she does and wherever she is but never getting a real chance to live in tandem with her.
One of the first things Zatanna did upon seeing her mother was immediately wrap Sindella in her arms to reaffirm her mother’s realness. and that still hasn’t changed even after 40+ yearsss ☹️
i have not drawn in one william years so have a zatanna and sindella.
