Sing Week 2017 Day 7: Free Day
Wow this week was fun! I found some cool new people, saw a surge of cool content and created a bunch of my own! I am slightly worried that this’ll all go away once the week ends, but I still had a lot of fun, and I’m glad that I did this!
Anyways, for today since its free day, I’m going to be doing shoutouts! These are for the people that keep the Sing content coming despite how quiet it’s become.
@sourgrapelaffytaffy (Aka Peggy): Peggy was one of the first people that helped me truly get into the Sing fandom. She runs a Mike roleplaying blog called @mywaay (Now moved to @tcthinecwnself) that, despite the lack of Sing RP blogs, makes the most of what she has and still has a lot of fun! The threads are really cool too, I sometimes look back to them for a read if I’m bored. Not only that, she helped me develop the “Moral Support” fic I’ve been writing for a while into what it is today! If she never took a liking to the first concept post I posted a while ago, I wouldn’t be here! She’s also posted several AUs and art for Sing that still entertain me to this day! So thank you Peggy for helping me get here and for everything you’ve done for this fandom!
@dramaticallyfree (Aka Mizzy): This is a similar situation with Peggy, but its much different at the same time! Mizzy runs a Buster Moon RP blog called @charllatan (now moved to @chosenwars) and plays a very entertaining koala! She also does what she can do in terms of roleplaying and is very talented and made me smile multiple times! While Mizzy has never posted art, her gifs and edits make up for it! Seriously, a majority of gifs for Sing were made by her, no joke! I’m thankful for what Mizzy has done for the Sing fandom, and I’m looking forward to anything that she does in the future!
@fearlessinblue: FIB runs a Sing fanfiction blog, @meenasmoon that is dedicated purely to their own creative stories. Anything that they write is original and really amazing, never failing to put a smile on my face for their several scenarios. For example: “Renegades”, their ongoing story in which the Theater Gang is a group of secret agents, specializing in their own different skill to protect who they can; “Singing in the Moonlight”, a story about Meena and Johnny’s developing relationship as it grows from a friendship into something much, much more; and finally, “Waiting for a Star to Fall”, inspired by Dream Daddy, where Meena is a single mother that just moved into a new neighborhood where the rest of the theater gang are also adults! Even some of the prompts that they take are cute as hell, like Johnny becoming slightly jealous after seeing somebody flirt with Meena. All of these stories always manage to make me smile, and I’m glad that I found their blog! Thank you for your contributions to the fandom FIB!
@setoangel01: Seto has created so many fics starring Johnny and Ash that its almost baffling! Just like FIB, they have many ongoing JohnnyXAsh fics that are just plain cute, and have really awesome art to boot! Some examples being: “Set me Free”, set during the events of the movie, Johnny unintentionally helps Ash realize that she’s unhappy with her situation with Lance and helps her break away and be her own person; “The Rocker and the Mechanic”, where Ash’s motorcycle breaks down in the middle of nowhere, and only a mechanic of “J’s mechanics” is around to help fix her bike and previously broken heart; and “Beautiful Disaster”, where Johnny shows up all kinds of screwed up at the Moon Theater one night, with only Ash around to help him. Their fics are seriously amazing, and always has the right amount of fluff, even in some of her regular art and oneshot comics! So thank you Seto for what you have done for this fandom.
@singing-gems: This is a blog dedicated to the Singing Gems AU, aka the Steven Universe AU, run by @busterm00n, @ratzofficial and @bustamoon. These three bloggers helped create and grow the AU, making it widely known across the fandom! If you don’t know already, the Singing Gems AU is where all of the Theater Gang are outcasts from Homeworld and are living on earth as a sort of hideout. If you want more details you’ll have to go check out the blog yourself! Anyways, Singing-Gems has became a hub for everything about the AU, with art, fics and so much more being hosted on that blog! But of course they’ve made art themselves, such as a fusion concept for Mike and Eddie, along with several others! But again, you’ll have to check them out for yourself to see! So thank you to all three of you for your contributions to this fandom!
Everyone else in the Sing Fandom: Honestly, if I could I would list every single person in this fandom for what they’ve done! But that would take up way too much space on here. So I would just like to say thank you to everyone in this fandom for what you have done. Even if it was an awesome art piece or one small meme, your contributions were always welcomed. So thank you all for being here with the rest of us.
