Hi there everyone! My name's Twi, and after graduating from University I'm opening up commissions for writing AND editing services!
Are you working on a story (original or otherwise) and want an informed second opinion? I've been writing for over a decade and editing for half, and nothing brings me more joy than helping another writer bring their ideas to life.
If you want to learn more, check out my website down below and email me if you're interested. I promise to help make your story the best it can be! <3

We talk a lot about how like, fandom in general has extremely piss poor reading comprehension, but I'm not gonna lie, the case I've seen in Amazing Digital Circus is frankly fascinating.
Like, I'm not the biggest fan of TADC, I thought it was fine, but it wasn't what I would call subtle about its themes. TADC exists very firmly in the Millennial Adult Animated series subtype, which means it looks like a kids show, while being about adult emotions, and also states its ideas extremely clearly. There's a bunch of these (BoJack Horseman and Rick & Morty are the big ones in my estimations). They are extremely direct and very blunt, which is in my mind just a neutral statement. Directness is neither positive nor negative
So here comes this show, which spends a huge chunk of its runtime explaining how basically all of the characters are damaged and need to accept themselves to heal, and then spends a MASSIVE chunk of its double length final episode detailing how its biggest piece of shit character became the way she is via a mix of self loathing and fear of her own identity, culminating with her begging the main character not to love her, literally indicating that she believes her own actions have made her irredeemable, AND THEN the whole show emotionally climaxes with said main character embracing her, choosing to love her anyway...
And a bunch of y'all seem to be champing at the bit to find new ways to punish her. Honestly y'all fascinate me.
I think readin comprehension has a lot to do with it, I'm not gonna discount that, but I do believe the lion's share of this attitude towards Jax lies in transmisogyny.
Before this final episode, lookin around the fandom, Jax was considered the Tumblr sexyman of the month. A smol bean who despite bein objectively awful & abusive could "do no wrong" for some reason.
Most people who identify with fandom culture have intensely unexamined transmisogynistic ideals. Hell, most people do, regardless of fandom affiliation. It doesn't shock me that when a character, who used to be shielded by fandom's protective love of abusive men, betrayed that categorization by being trans, it caused the general tone to shift towards one of accountability. An insatiable. An over-sufficing accountability often leveraged against trans feminine people.
I can't remember who it was who said this on here so forgive me, but one girl said
"You can tell a trans woman is well written because people still want to beat the corpse."
Here is that Caine x Tenna comic I promised to share. But no kiss! Sorry guys, but I only promised to draw them kissing if Caine won that last round, but Caine didn't won. Tenna did. I gotta keep my word. But hey! There is always the next Tumblr Sexyman contest, next year! Haha! Enjoy!

Thanks for putting the contest together in the first place! It got me inspired and got me drawing all these cool drawings. It was fun.
No, this is a real question I want you to think about and answer. Deltarune has provided unique discussion and I want to have it. Is this scene sad?
Why?
You have your answer. Keep that in mind. Now
Is this scene sad?
Once again, real question, serious question. We've been given little pieces of information, parsed out over the course of five chapters. And now, with hindsight, we can look back on this in a new light. So is this scene sad?
Why?
You have your answer. Hold it.
Is this scene sad?
Is this one?
Is this one?
Why?
You have your answers to all of these. And I want you to collect them all, roll them around in your mind, really ponder them for a bit.
Now.
Why is Susie living in the closet sad, but her devouring multiple Darkners, not?
Let's go over probably one of the most free responses to these questions: "Susie living in the closet is sad because she will starve in there." And that's true. Ralsei and Susie have said that food in the dark worlds don't make them feel any more full. Without proper sustinence, she's gonna get hungry.
Fair response, reasonable response. So what if, with Noelle's infinite money, she bought a bunch of canned food that could last her forever. She would live healthy with a balanced diet of actual food. Would Susie living in the closet still be sad?
Eliminating the food aspect of things, another response I hear is "because Susie is sleeping in the closet, with her only friends being literal objects like playing cards, flowers, and literal trash."
But why is that sad? We've gone on five different adventures now, made friends in the Dark World with so many people. Lots of people sympathize with Tenna, for example. He's his own person, his own hopes and dreams and people were scared for his life when the Knight came around. Functionally, there is no difference in importance between Tenna and a random Pippins, because they are both people. These are people. We've established that by now, they deserve to be treated with the same amount of kindness as any other person in the Light World.
The response I just gave is the one that a lot of players going through Deltarune are likely to give. Which, again, is a reasonable response. This is what Tobias Foxington and Temminie Change are tee-ing up for us. Darkners deserve just as much sympathy and love as Lightners, no matter if they're sentient at the time or not.
Now let's go back to those last three questions. And if you don't mind, I'll be using a strawman here.
Is Susie eating a snack platter of cookies sad? Aren't those darkners?
"No, because cookies aren't Darkners, they're armor!"
Is Susie drinking fruit punch sad? Isn't that a Darkner?
"No, because the punch is an item! That's different from the Mizzles!"
Is Susie eating a flower, sad? Isn't that a Darkner?
"I mean. Maybe. But she hadn't gone to Flower Kingdom yet."
So does that mean it's okay for Susie to eat these things, because she has never met a Darkner version of those items yet?
These are all rhetorical questions, at the end of the day. I'm not trying to inflict an existential crisis onto people over this, nor start a culture war in the fandom. There are no right answers. But I think, all of these together, are tee-ing up a very specific and unique question that is poised to be answered in the last two chapters. Susie's empathy is her greatest strength, and her greatest weak point. And that is very likely to clash against other people (mayhaps some Deer folk) when push comes to shove.
The smallest of things that we barely think about are being given a face, likeable features, a personality. Playing cards, dust, literal leaves and twigs. And we, of course, sympathize with them. They're Characters, they're people, we act nice to them and become their friends. And we're building a community in Castle Town with all of them together.
But if that's true, how far is that empathy willing to go? How far *should* it go? If each Dark World is influenced by its user, that means hypothetically ANYTHING could be a Darkner. Things that were previously items turned into living people under different shades of Darkness, as seen by the Winglade. The dust you clean off of the top of your shelves, the pencil that you gnaw on while taking a test, the salad that you eat for dinner -- ALL of them could be a Darkner under a specific fountain.
So will you treat all of them as people? Should you? Will you only treat them as people when you realize they have a Darkner form? Will you treat literally every tiny miniscule thing in your life as if they're a person with their own rich personal life, unless proven otherwise, because you don't know if they'll have a Darkner form in a specific Dark World?
Even those hypothetical cans of food that Susie would have to eat in order to live in the Dark World full time, and not go hungry?
So now. Once more. I ask.
Is this scene sad?
She has a mother figure. She has a brother figure. She has lots of friends in there.
âAnd if youâll give me 40% of the MOST POPULAR VOTE, Iâll give you my SPECIAL REWARD... A yearâs supply of NON-GLOOBY SLIME!!! Never or BARELY used!!!â Tenna concluded his speech with a huge smile, jetting his hands up in double peace signs.
The crowd roared in confused enthusiasm as Tenna gave a gracious flurry of low-FPS bows, pausing only for the occasional stink-nose at his audience plants who werenât throwing enough 3D roses.
Eventually, the room fell silent. It was Senshiâs turn to speak.
He puffed out his chest, took a long, sweeping look over the audience⊠and shook his head.
âI can see not all of you are eating properly.â
The crowd murmured with embarrassment.
âI donât know who needs to hear this, but itâs time to take the turkey out of your icebox. I have seen the ingenious technology with which your people store food... and I have also seen the waste which results from such convenience.
âThe food you take had a life. Beasts grew fat on the grass of the field, plants grew from the sunâs rays, and mushrooms grew from minerals in the cracks of caves. And yet, it sits in your iceboxes, collecting moisture until it perishes.
âEat what is given to you. Because its life will make you stronger, too.â
Without another word, Senshi left his podium and stepped away from the stage. The crowd murmured in confusion. âIs he really like that?â somebody said. âI only remember reblogging the photosets of him tripping and showing ass.â

Back in the Green Room, Tenna wrung his antennas nervously.
âY-y-you think they liked me!? They HAD to!! I mean, I donât know what Asgore was thinking, getting that weird haircut and running that food waste campaign, but⊠YOU thought I did good, didnât you, Kris?â
Laios nodded aggressively, a streak of blue face paint peeling from his forehead.
âYou did AMAZING, Tenna! By the way, now that weâve seen all your insider campaign secrets, do you have any more videos of Susie? Especially her tail... If I could get a look at that, I could finally tell if sheâs a dinosaur or --â
THWACK. Fake antlers butted Laiosâs head.
âLAIOS?? Werenât we dressed up to help SENSHI???â Marcille hissed, gesturing awkwardly with her hooves.
Suddenly, Tenna turned to the two adventurers.
âHey, WAIT a second. SOMETHINGâs not right here...â
Laios and Marcille held their breath.
âWhere the heck are my POINTS!?â
Just then, the door opened. Chilchuck took one step into the room, whistling and holding a large bag.
Everyone turned to him.
Chilchuck paused, took a step backwards, and closed the door.
âCHILCHUCK!!!â yelled Tenna.
âHow come Chilchuck got to stay Chilchuck!?â yelled Marcille at the same time.
