Part 1: Frostheim, Vagastrom, Jabberwock, Mortkranken

Subaru 

You look up at him, smiling.  He blushes. Not unusual. But he’s redder than you’ve ever seen him. And it’s everywhere. His cheeks, ears, neck, and somehow his arms too?? He stands up abruptly. “Sorry— I think I need to—uh— step out for a second.”   When you ask him what’s wrong, he just covers his face.  “MC… You’re just too cute.” 

Haku

Haku uses flirting as a shield, but cuteness aggression is the one thing that cracks his composure. 

He flirts with you. You make that face. His heart… hurts?   He buries his face in his palm for a few seconds.  “Huh? Haku, are you okay?”  He takes a long deep breath.  Then— a light chop to your head.   “You’re making it really hard to hold back, y’know.”  Sir, WHAT??? He messes up your hair.  “Now, where were we?”  He goes straight back to flirting and the cycle begins.   He chases the reaction but can’t handle it.

Zenji

Zenji doesn’t fight it. He embraces it fully. You smile.  He gasps.  “Wait! Don’t move.”  Pen and paper immediately. Just simple words could not possibly describe this feeling.  He mutters to himself some crazy lines.  “Like a blossom caught in a hurricane—no, too soft. A kitten with a warrior’s sword—no, too violent.” 

After that he doesn’t call you “girl” or “little lamb” he calls you his “muse.” 

Because now every time he feels that cuteness aggression, inspiration blossoms. Poems. Lyrics. Music.

Taiga

Careful, he bites. You smile.   He pauses. It’s that feeling in his chest again.  “Tch.” He grabs your hand and bites your fingertip. Not hard enough to puncture skin but just enough to soothe himself.  “Ow! W-What are you doing?” “Your fault for looking real tasty today, kitty-cat.” 

After that, it doesn’t matter when or where. 

On your fingertips, ears, arms, collarbone, neck. Basically anywhere with exposed skin. 

He’s gotten even more possessive.

If he sees you smiling in the same way to someone else, he pulls you away and just glares at the other person till they run away. 

Romeo

Romeo can’t handle genuine vulnerability so he frames your cuteness as a tactical scheme. 

You’re just kind of existing. Smiling.  Suddenly— He points his finger at you. “You're trying to get something from me, aren’t you!”  You blink. He continues.  “You’re trying to soften me up so I’ll lighten the workload!” “...Umm. I didn’t do anything.”  “I see right through it!” He’s confused. You’re confused.  He storms off. 

Ritsu

The first time he experiences it, he’s super confused and confides in you about it. “MC, every time you do that, I feel this tightening in my chest. It makes me want to do things I usually never do.”  What THINGS??? He researches after that. What are these thoughts and physiological reactions? Once he figures it out, he asks for small requests (always asking for your consent first, of course).  “MC. I feel it again. May I pinch your cheeks?” “Can I hug you? Approximately 5 seconds?”  When it gets really bad, he takes out a small journal, (one he bought specifically for these moments), and scribbles notes into them.  When you ask to see it, he hides it immediately.

Ed 

You smile.  He pauses for a few seconds. Then smiles back.  “Now, when was the last time I’ve experienced this?” 

He wants to see that look again and again. Feel that feeling again and again. 

And when he succeeds, he starts saying even more diabolical things.

“You see, when you make that expression, it makes me want to do things I can't quite say out loud.”

Rui

You smile.  He clutches his heart like he’s been shot by cupid.  Like physically staggers back.  “Cutie… you’re literally going to be the death of me some day.”  5 minutes later he closes the shop early. “You're dangerous right now. It’ll be bad if you tempt me too much.” He doesn’t want to risk touching you.

Lyca

You smile.  His ears pop out instantly. His tail wags enthusiastically.  He backs away with a blushed face.  “What is this feeling?”  “What’s wrong, Lyca?”  When you try to reach out, he dodges it immediately.   “G-Get away from me!”  He leaves, treating you like a plague.  “This is why I can’t handle girls,” he mumbles.

Elias

You smile.  He pauses. Then also smiles.  Elias knows exactly what this is.  He leans in slightly. “Inspector, It seems I find you to be very cute. What do you suggest I do about it?”

After that, anytime he feels it, he treats it like a game. 

“You’ve done it again.” 

“Oh. Critical hit.” 

“I’m afraid I may not survive this one.” 

It seems unserious but it’s his way of coping.  

Jo

Jo doesn't panic. Doesn’t overthink. He just accepts it.  You smile.  He pulls you into a nice long hug.  “...So cute,” he whispers, though loud enough for you to hear.  He stays like that for a while. Patting your head, running his fingers through it.

Mio

Buddha Mio has never experienced such spikes in his emotions before.  You smile.  He blinks. Turns around like a robot.  And immediately starts fidgeting with something that doesn't even need fixing.  When you ask him why, he just says, “I–I don’t know. I just felt like I should focus on something else…”  Umm… ok. 

Shion

You smile.  He goes quiet.  Eyes locked on you.  “Hmmm.” Uh–oh. “All of a sudden… I want to put you in a tiny cage. Lock you in my room. So that no one will be able to find you.”  Despite your fearful expression, he keeps going.  “And I'll just keep you there. Forever.”  Yeah–  maybe don't make that face in front of him again.

“Handle it,” he says, like it’s obvious.

You don’t move.

“…No.”

Silence.

Slowly—

he turns.

“…What did you just say?”

“I said no.”

Jin steps closer.

“You don’t get to refuse orders.”

You meet his gaze evenly.

“You don’t get to give bad ones.”

“…Explain,” he says, voice lower now.

You gesture toward the mission site.

“You’re approaching it head-on.”

“And?”

“It’s a trap.”

Jin scoffs. “I’ve handled worse.”

“Not like this.”

He studies you.

You don’t back down.

“…So what,” he mutters, “you’ve got a better plan?”

You nod.

“Already implemented it.”

He freezes.

“…What?”

You point behind him.

There’s a faint click.

Jin turns—

and sees the anomaly already contained.

Silence.

Then he looks back at you.

“…When did you—”

“While you were talking.”

Jin stares.

Then—

he huffs a laugh.

“…Tch. Fine.”

A pause.

“…Next time, warn me.”

You shrug.

“Next time, think faster.”

Leo Kurosagi:

Leo is already recording.

“Alright, Honor Roll,” he says lazily, camera angled just right, “try not to die. It ruins the footage.”

You don’t even look at him.

“Turn it off.”

“…What?”

“Turn. It. Off.”

He scoffs. “You’re not the director here.”

You finally glance over.

“…You’re about to miss the actual story.”

That gets his attention.

“…Oh?”

You point ahead, where the anomaly flickers unnaturally.

“It’s not reacting to movement,” you say calmly. “It’s reacting to attention.”

Leo pauses.

“…Explain.”

“You’ve been filming it this whole time.”

Silence.

Then—

he slowly lowers his phone.

The anomaly stops moving.

Leo’s eyes widen—just slightly.

“…Huh.”

You start walking past him.

“Next time,” you add, “try thinking before you chase content.”

He watches you go.

Then, quietly—

“…That would’ve gone viral.”

But he’s smiling.

Taiga’s already aiming his gun.

“Move,” he mutters. “I’m bored.”

You don’t move.

“Shoot, and we die.”

He tilts his head.

Taiga glances around.

Then smirks.

“…You’re guessing.”

“I’m not.”

The anomaly shifts.

Taiga’s finger tightens on the trigger—

You grab his wrist.

“Don’t.”

Silence.

Taiga looks at you.

Really looks this time.

“…Kitten.”

“…What.”

“You’re interesting.”

You let go.

“Yeah. I know.”

He lowers the gun.

“…So what’s the move, genius?”

You turn, already walking ahead.

“Starve it.”

“…Huh?”

“No stimuli. No reaction. No existence.”

Taiga grins slowly.

“…Heh.”

For once—

he follows you.

Haku watches you the whole time.

That soft, amused smile never leaving.

“…You knew,” he says.

You glance at him.

“Knew what?”

“That the exit was a loop.”

You shrug lightly.

“It was obvious.”

“It wasn’t,” he says gently.

You stop walking.

Turn to him.

“…You figured it out too.”

Haku smiles.

“I suspected.”

“But you waited.”

“I wanted to see what you’d do.”

You hum.

“…And?”

He steps closer.

“…You didn’t panic.”

“Why would I?”

“Most people do.”

You smile faintly.

“I’m not most people.”

Haku studies you.

Then laughs softly.

“…No. You’re not.”

A pause.

“…Princess,” he adds, quieter now, “you’re dangerous.”

You tilt your head.

“…Only if you underestimate me.”

His smile sharpens.

“…I won’t make that mistake again.”

Edward is leaning against the wall.

Watching.

Always watching.

“…You already knew,” he murmurs.

You don’t even turn.

“Yeah.”

“The anomaly wasn’t real.”

“It was a distraction.”

Edward hums.

“…And the real threat?”

You glance up.

“It’s behind you.”

He smiles.

“…Of course it is.”

But he doesn’t turn.

“…Aren’t you going to check?”

“No need.”

“…Confident.”

“I trust your judgment.”

That makes you pause.

You look at him.

“…That’s risky.”

Edward’s smile softens.

“…So is underestimating you.”

A beat.

Then—

“Besides,” he adds lightly, “I was curious how long you’d let me pretend I didn’t notice.”

You blink.

“…You’re annoying.”

“And yet,” he says, amused, “you’re still talking with me.”

Yuri Isami:

Yuri is mid-explanation.

“…as you can see, the anomaly’s structure suggests—”

“It’s going to collapse.”

He stops.

“…Excuse me?”

You cross your arms.

“It’s unstable.”

“I am aware of that.”

“No,” you correct, “you’re observing it.”

That stings.

“I am analyzing—”

“You’re overthinking.”

Yuri bristles.

“I do not ‘overthink.’ I refine.”

You step closer.

“It’s feeding off complexity.”

He freezes.

“…What?”

“The more variables you introduce, the stronger it gets.”

Silence.

Yuri looks back at the anomaly.

Then at you.

“…So the solution is…”

You shrug.

“Do less.”

That physically pains him.

“…That is not a solution.”

“It is if you want to survive.”

The anomaly shifts violently.

Yuri hesitates.

For once—

he doesn’t have the answer.

You step forward.

Calm. Simple. Direct.

The anomaly weakens immediately.

Yuri watches, stunned.

“…That’s—”

“Basic,” you say.

He looks at you.

Really looks.

“…You simplified it.”

You nod.

“Try it sometime.”

Yuri exhales sharply.

“…I hate that you’re right.”

“…You’re welcome.”

how did you get in between this two beautiful pyschopaths ? we do not know. it was always the three of you at the crimescene.

it all started when taiga started making you hang around in sinostra more often and making you indirectly late for your plans with shion.

the next thing you knew, shion already made a huge hole on the sinostra's casino ceiling, with a bright smile on his face.

cue romeo yelling at the distruction while taiga grinned like a maniac, caging you on his lap. if you squint hard enough, there is a light vein popping at shion's forehead.

“i believe the honor-student has plans with me now." shion steps forward to take you into his arms but you get pulled back to taiga.

the next thing you know, a gun was pointed at shion's face but THIS MANIAC pressed his forehead against the gold metal.

“okay st—op!” you stand in-between them, pushing taiga's gun away gently while pushing shion behind you.

THEN SHION decided thought it was a MARVELLOUS idea to wrap his hands around your shoulder and waist as you lectured taiga.

yeah— the sinostra's casino was in flames after that with you in-between of it all. (the aftermath is you in the chancellor office, face covered in ashes standing in between taiga and shion, who also covered in ashes)

this was the start of the many incidents you occured with taiga hoshibami and shion genkai.

whenever you are out on an errand, shion sometimes appear next to you, bending over slightly and offering his hand while he brings you over to dionysia to see a new set he was doing.

or maybe, taiga will appear from the corner and snatch you to sinostra so you can sit on his lap while playing poker.

whenever this comes around, you either get tossed in-between them both or you somehow escape the two with the help of another ghoul.

whenever you sneak to the campus store to buy some snacks, taiga (who never steps foot into the campus store) somehow appears outside, waiting for you. thats when, you hear a soft whisper in the shadows, with shion appearing on your left.

and they argued, again.

there were some days where you weren't having it. you snapped at them both and slammed the door at their faces.

but imagine shion and taiga working together by climbing through your bedroom window and giving you the biggest shock of your life when you opened your eyes and they are staring at you.

taiga made his way to sit next to you, laying down and wrapping his arms around your waist while shion leaned forward, towards you while the tip of his fingers brush a strand of hair behind your ear.

okay, maybe being stuck in a love-triangle between taiga hoshibami & shion genkai isn't so bad after all.
