OOH. I don't know if I have the mental spoons to write a term paper on much these days, so I'm going to take the easy route by picking a concept album. :)

This One's for the Dancer & This One's for the Dancer's Bouquet is two albums interlocked together; one is a relatively normal Spencer Krug album with a lot of sax, and the other (my favourite ;;) is the Minotaur struggling to forgive the people and the world that locked him up for being born and killed him for being monstrous. (From the first track, forgiving his mother: And did you not once anticipate me // Or were you a rat in a maze, making a rat in a maze?)

Summary: The typical nude model is someone like Phil. Phil is forty-nine and paunchy. He's starting to go gray at his temples and in his pubic hair; he likes to pose on a stool, curving his back and curling his fingers together between his knees. Phil is secretly awesome -- he likes the Misfits and builds model trains -- but he's not what Gerard would call prime ogling material. Neither are any of the other models who have posed for the life modeling or anatomy classes Gerard has taken. This semester, Anna was kind of cute, but she whined about the conditions the entire time she was there. In his four years of art school, anyway, Gerard has never once dealt with being attracted to the model.

But this guy is hot.

He's been at it for a while now, maybe two hours. His palms are black with dirt. Before, he thinks, before he wouldn't have wanted to do this, he would have gotten bored. But after, there wasn't anything else to do. Scavenging is his job now. It's the thing he does to earn his keep.

When Gerard signed the admissions paperwork for the Fordhaven School for Boys, he knew he was signing up for four years of sexual frustration. No one was gay at Fordhaven. Gerard was all-too-aware that he would be a virgin until he graduated. In his senior year, though, this stupid gay freshman disproves Fordhaven's straightness, and throws Gerard's entire world off-kilter. Now, in between drawing, avoiding bullies, running an incredibly serious tabletop RP game, failing out of math, and hanging out with friends, Gerard is also busy kind of falling for this asshole who's way too young for him. It's not what he planned on, but it's what's happening. In conclusion: high school sucks.
