Merlin rewatch -- S2E2: The Once and Future Queen
Arthur+Merlin+Gwen
The knight transformation montage was hilarious. It's like some weird exhibition. " How to make a knight step by step" or something. Arthur's face was gold.
New au just dropped. It’s going to be called “the princess and the knight”
Summary:
This is the story of Paulina, a young girl who can’t get anything right. She’s doesn’t have many friends, her magic isn’t the best and she feels like she is alone in the world. Everything changes when she finds Sir William, a knight who has been sleeping for years. She tries to help him until the emperor starts chasing them, and now, has to protect him
Should I write this? 🤔
Man.. I wish there was more Sir William fics :[
a random sampling of The Batman of the Tangent Comics through the decades
The Nineties- The Batman #1
Dark Knight of the Round Table Sir William (full name unknown, as he's been struck from the records) was bewitched by Morgan le Fay and rebelled against Arthur. Eventually breaking free of her plot and vanquishing her, Arthur spared him his life, but Merlin deemed he must bear punishment for his sins nonetheless, cursing him to be confined to the halls of the magical Castle Bat until such a time as he had redeemed his soul. Now, he uses mystic arts to project his consciousness into his old armor, and ventures out into the modern world doing just deeds in an effort to be free of his curse some day...
The Aughts- Superman's Reign
Like nearly everyone else, Sir William helped the heroes of two earths battle against the grip The Superman Harvey Dent had on the world. Castle Bat served as a base of operations, as the magics that kept it apart from the mortal world made it imperceptible to The Superman's globe-spanning psychic powers. He teamed up with the Batman of the main DC Universe, but Bruce was somewhat at odds with his counterpart and his more old-fashioned views on how to deal with a foe. In the end, he seemingly sacrificed himself to fend off the advance of a re-powered Ultrahumanite, that The Superman had freed from its cosmic prison in an effort to defeat the heroes.
The Teens (almost)- Batman: The Brave and the Bold (sort of)
In an 2009 episode "Day of the Dark Knight", Bruce is transported back to Arthur's court, where he is brainwashed by Morgaine le Fay and dons a familiar looking red armor in a plot clearly reminiscent of his Tangent counterpart's tale. The time travelled Green Arrow helps Merlin rescue the Dark Knight, and the three team up to take on Morgaine and her other thrall, Etrigan the Demon. Unlike his punishment of Sir William, Merlin sends Bruce on his way, and even encounters him a few more times later in the series.
The Twenties- Green Lantern Dark #3
In a pleasant surprise, it appears that Sir William had not made the ultimate sacrifice after all, and will be appearing in February's issue of Green Lantern Dark alongside Rina as she explores the town of New Camelot, searching for her self-appointed protégé Lunette, who has managed to get herself snatched up by monsters. What capacity Sir William will be playing is as yet unknown, but I sure am excited to find out!
