Karl killed Miranda in a fit of brotherly inspired passion and he Almost Died doing it

His army of soldats went up against the lycans, as planned, and it was a massacre. Both for the armies and the unfortunate village left between.

In the end Karl very fucking tiredly was basically "Miranda’s dead, fuck all of you" and the villagers kind of just made him the Main Dude even tho he was holed up unconscious in his factory for a while recovering hhdhfjd

Karl is a little meh on the actually being a leader thing, he mostly just supervises and lays down a few laws. He randomly declared one of the survivors a Mayor to keep the village running smoothly during rebuilding. It was Luiza, and she's doing a great job actually

The other Lords are... very conflicted on things, actually, and the only reason they haven't confronted Karl is sheer fear. Karl broke a few barriers while fighting Miranda out of sheer desperation and he paid for it later, but he is Exceedingly More Powerful than he already was.

Also, in this AU? After Miranda died? Who better to be the new host for the megamycete than the one who killed the previous host?

A Bad Reaction? For the ask thing

Ah yes the story that was supposed to be a oneshot. You can find the story as it currently stands here (x).

I'm trying to figure out how to finish out the final chapter so I'll give you a snippit.

Jim lay on his bed. He was tired, physically and mentally, but unable to rest. Every time he moved, he was reminded of the changes in his body.

It wasn’t just his limbs that had changed; his senses were different too.

He could see perfectly in the dark of his room. He had noticed down in the living room that the colors he was used to were muted and a few even missing. There were other new colors now too, ones he could not name that appeared in strange places. It made everything look surreal and unfamiliar.

His hearing was better, as was his sense of smell.

In contrast, his sense of touch was muted as if he was wearing gloves.

All in all he felt overwhelmed and twitchy.

After spending what felt like three hours trying to go to sleep on his stomach -he couldn’t sleep on his back with a tail and wings- he lifted his head and glanced at the clock. Fifteen minutes. It had been only fifteen minutes.

Jim struggled into a sitting position with a groan.

This wasn’t going to work.

His clothes had given up the ghost so to speak -and he didn’t have anything that would really fit him at the moment- so he wrapped his bedsheet around him in some sort of awkward toga and ventured downstairs.

Jimmy-boy is not having an easy time adjusting to his new form. I've always liked the idea that trolls see a different range of colors than humans (due to being nocturnal and living most of the time underground), so I've incorporated that into this fic.

aja/jim, medieval au

Princess Aja Tarron of the kingdom of Akiridion-5th was not impressed at all by any of her suitors; yes, all of them showed incredible skill and talent, yes, one had rippling muscles under his tunic, yes, but they all seem to look and treat her as if she was... a prize to be won - it disgusted her to no end.

But then came the last of them, a common boy by the name of James Lake, whom surprised her with the offer of a freshly baked pie, no malice or smug aura radiating off him, but just pure honesty.

This one... he seems bound to be actually worth her time.

what are your favorite characters and character interactions in tales of arcadia so far?

I always loved the slowly growing big brother thing Draal had going towards Jim, and I really wish we had seen more of it.

Draal and him just seemed to get along so well once they got past the initial differences, and Jim needed an older brother figure in his life imo!

Sure he had Toby, but Toby was his childhood same age brother type. Just as important, but a completely different aspect.
