Reasons to watch the 2003 "Clone Wars"
Don't get me wrong, from what I've seen of 2008 Clone Wars it's pretty good, aside from the crappy CGI. But I firmly believe that the 2003 version deserves more attention, for the following reasons:
It's basically Samurai Jack with lightsabers
For those of you familiar with one of the best cartoons of the early 2000's, this was made by the same people.
It's very visible in the art style, and the fighting scenes.
...Not to mention the amount of clothing damage sustained.
2. Superior General Grievous
I get that the version who's coughing and wheezing and speaking in kind of a raspy, guttural voice while huddling in his cloak is foreshadowing Vader's fate, but let's be honest-he's not all that intimidating, especially when the first time we see him successfully kill someone is a hothead who's just barely finished his padawan-ship.
This version, on the other hand?
He's waaay more believable as a genuine threat.
Plus there's an oddly wholesome scene later of him practicing dueling with Count Dooku.
3. Sexy Threepio
...It's not as disturbing as it sounds.
The writers absolutely knew what they were doing during this part.
4. Obi-Wan face
Lately Obi-Wan's been added to my list of comfort characters, and we get to see some delightful fight scenes with him in this show.
And then, in Volume 2/season three, we also get to see him drawn with some of the best faces.
That is the face of a man who is just done with everything.
I never get tired of looking at it.
5. The legend of the Ghost Hand
…Enough said
