Joy makes her debut at Afrika Burn playa. She calls in the sisters for a sharing and a cry. ‘Sit with me’, she calls out. Close your eyes. Breathe.’ And they do. Her heart is already filled and overflowing, and she shares abundantly. I weave her foot as we tell stories of growth and allowing. Still not sure if this wild party place is the place for us, but we keep open and observant, happy to engage our senses in this abundance of vibrant creation. Breathe.... The breath of life takes the form of sticks tacked together on the ground outside my tent at Afrika Burn. Wind, dust, clouds and rainbows. After a day or two of resistance, by channeling Mad Max I reckon, I became ready to embrace my inner desert dweller with joy.
