Ozimek volans - a "flying" dragon from Triassic Poland. This small reptile was one of the first vertebrates to attempt to conquer the skies. Although it could not fly, it could glide through the forests it shared with other ancient reptiles, such as Silesaurus.🧵

Ozimek volans, a member of the Sharovipterygidae family, was discovered in the Late Triassic formation near Krasiejów, Poland. It was found alongside other reptiles, such as Silesaurus and Cyclotosaurus. The precise phylogeny of Ozimek, as well as that of its family, remains unclear.

Anyway, like with the first film, marketing and on-screen depictions of its colossal combatants disagree on just how big they are.

For example, marketing and tie-in media state that Gipsy Danger is 260ft (79.3m) tall and Knifehead is 315ft (96m), yet, in the first film, both combatants are almost exactly the same height.

In additon, during the Tokyo battle near the end of the film, the Jaegers, when compared to say, the 40ft lampposts appear to be a larger size than their marketing

Other sources say that Gipsy is 288ft (87.8m) tall, assuming this means the top of its head, this would make Gipsy Danger almost exactly 300ft (91.4m) tall.

Using this scaling and applying it to the other Jaegers and Kaiju allows this size chart to be the most accurate it can be in relation to the Jaegers and Kaijus true, on-screen size.

As to why Hakuja is a PNG, I could not, for the life of me find an obtainable model of any sort

Spec evo Vault, Shaggyfaced Snouter

From the mountainous regions of one of the Hy-yi-yi islands, the Shaggyfaced Snouter was remarkable for being one of the largest rhinogrades ever, reaching more than a meter in height standing on their robust nasal appendages, which is a result of the lack of competitors they were the extreme of gigantism from this bizarre group of mammals.

These large pillar snout walkers inhabited the island of Mittuddinna located south east of the archipelago, it once belong to the clade of Hexarrhinida, but being relative of smaller flower mimic species and strange ambush ground dwelling sedentary creatures.

These magnificent creatures were found gathering in small groups headed by large males, followed by younger ones and females that using their silver tails are capable to provoke a response to the younger males. They were slow herbivores that feed on the roots of the plant Mammontopsisitos dauciradix.

Anomalocaris, apex predator of the Cambrian sea, glides serenely through its ancient realm. Around it thrives a menagerie of bizarre creatures: hedgehog like Wiwaxia, numerous sponges, spiky Chancelloriids, cup-shaped Dinomischus, and tiny Scenella across the seafloor.

Anomalocaris canadensis, an extinct arthropod of the order Radiodonta, was one of the first apex predators. According to 2023 research, it probably hunted free-swimming prey using a pair of frontal appendages, rather than seafloor dwellers like trilobites, as previously thought.

Wiwaxia corrugata, an extinct animal of uncertain origins, was once thought to be an annelid (a group containing earthworms). The most widely accepted view today is that it was a mollusk or a close relative. It crawled along the seafloor like a slug, scraping bacteria as it fed.

Dinomischus isolatus, another extinct animal of uncertain origins. It was probably a close relative of ctenophores (a phylum that includes comb jellies). It fed by filtering seawater, between petal-like plates were located its mouth and anus, forming a simple U-shaped gut.
