Invader Zim Headcanon Poll: Sizz-Lor Edition!
If Irken society is based on height, how comes Sizz-Lor - perhaps the Tallest Irken we’ve seen - is a Fast-Food worker?
Irkens actually hold Fast-Food in very high regard. While being a Drone-lever worker like Zim is seen as humiliating - running your own Fast Food Restaurant like Sizz-Lor does is a noble ranking second only to the Tallests.
Sizz-Lor was also banished to Foodcourtia due to some grave mistake or crime in his past. He only got the rank and privileges that he has over Zim due to his height. Yet another reason he resents Zim, who continues to deny his mistakes rather than accept them like Sizz-Lor had to.
Sizz-Lor deliberately forsake higher ranking and more prestigious roles for the honest work and disrespected-but-important duty of Fast Food Service. Yet another reason he resents Zim, who abandoned that duty to chase deluded dreams of military glory.
Zim's banishment is not unusual, Foodcourtia doubles as both a galactic center for fast food and a high-security Irken prison. Sizz-Lor is thus basically a top warden, which is considered a very prestigious position in the oppressive culture of the Irken Empire.
The Control Brains want to maintain the illusion of a Height-Based Society but really they want Tallests who make for good figureheads. So they pick tall Irkens who are either too stupid or too lazy to notice who’s actually running the show - and anyone taller who is considered too competent gets assigned some lowly minial job somewhere they won’t be seen often.
Sizz-Lor is half-Irken half-Something Else, which is obviously highly-taboo in the Irken Empire and disqualify one from most roles outside of Fast Food.
