SIGNAL BOOST - Fanbook For La’Keisha Slade (Shay Dixon on SKAM Austin)

hi everyone, just wanted to bring attention to this project being hosted by @lakeishafanbook on Instagram (they are also on Twitter by the same username, if that is your preferred platform)

basically, this person is taking on the very kind and thoughtful initiative to make La’Keisha a fanbook to give to her at the SKAM InfinityCon in June. 

each project asks fans different things about what they enjoy about La’Keisha and the character she portrays, Shay.

if anyone has a chance, please drop by this Instagram or Twitter page and give a moment to put in a kind word for La’Keisha. if any of you want to send a letter or note talking about how much it means for you to have seen Shay played by her, this is also a great opportunity for that. there’s a gmail account to send emails to ([email protected]), if you prefer for your note to be a little more personal or longer than a standard comment/tweet.

shay dixon means so much to me personally, seeing a queer woman of color being played by a queer woman of color, having a chance to see a black lesbian possibly having a chance at being a main (i’m still holding out hope for Skam Austin season 3, if you can’t tell). i’m so thankful for all the nuance and personality La’Keisha gave to portraying Shay and bringing her to life. i feel like she really deserves some love from us and i’d love to let her know that she still means so much to the skam fandom, even if we haven’t seen her season yet.
