TNG producers were such cowards for not having Riker, Data, Geordi, Worf, or Picard wear a skant. They couldn’t handle the truth that it would simply be too sexy for 80s television.

@birdthebrat graced me with the galaxy brain vision “Tiner in the skant uniform.” So yeah here’s TNG era boys. Lore under the cut.

I initially made them TOS so they could have kooky fun but they would slot well into TNG/DS9/VOY era. They start out as staff for Ambassador Chegwidden who’s a decorated veteran and one of the only guys some folk in conflict will deal with. Tiner his yeoman and Gunny (Cardassian war vet) head of his security detail, Mac is some kind of attaché/protegé. Something happens to Chegwidden and Mac has to be acting diplomat for whatever crisis and inherits his staff.

She has a hard time delegating and hates getting nannied, given her own combat experience. But they all like each other and work well together and soon Tiner is swapping over to the diplomatic corps, too. They’re aboard some light cruiser captained by Rabb and he’s delighted to make as many detours, and bend as many regs as possible to get the junior ambassador where she needs to go.

I love the skant but it must be said the boots need work (the later ST games use a skant model with taller, more fitted boots which I think looks nicer). Blessed are the nerds b/c I had a hell of a time figuring out where the seams were supposed to be lol. (Also I must say the colors are making me crazy they are not Correct Gunny Tiner Colors™??? How insane do I have to be before I make an elaborate plot to put Tiner in science blue and Gunny in command red lol. While I was at it I would also give in to the urge to make Gunny Bajoran b/c he would be such a cute little bejeweled terrorist.)

(The longer I work with these paper dolls the more annoyed I am by the lazy/wonky anatomy lol. I think I need to redraw them before I do halloween costumes for them.)
