Atmosphere – Brooklyn Steel – January 22, 2026
Minneapolis hip-hop duo Atmosphere’s Winter Carnival Tour rolled into a very welcoming Brooklyn Steel on Thursday night for an incendiary show with a like-minded, stacked lineup that included Sage Francis, R.A. the Rugged Man, (whose set featured DJ Lala, Harlem native Danny Diablo and Brooklyn’s Bernadette Price) the Bronx’s own Kool Keith (joined by DJ Berlin, Ultramagentic MC’s bandmate Ced-Gee, and Denis Deft) and and Mr. Dibbs.

Synopsis
For most bands, Demos are things that at one time are necessary but soon after want to be forgotten about. In todays digital age...fat chance of that happening. So when it comes time to do it, do it right. On occasion however there will come along who releases a demo and it blows up to be one of the pivotal releases in their discography. Maximum Penalty is one of those bands, another ironically hails from the same town, or damn close (Yonkers) in Breakdown. Their 87 Demo has been dubbed, pressed as a 7″, bootlegged, and now pressed as a 12″, and why the hell not? This release is amazing. Its got all the essentials including a live WNYU radio show. True NYHC with a sense of humor and sarcasm which was often needed in those days. What was truly great about bands like Breakdown and MP, they could fit on any bill. SXE shows at the Anthrax, absolutely. Big rooms like City Gardens, done that. CBs matinees...ill stop there. This is essential HC people.
The Demo that keeps reinventing itself, but this time with a bit more layout room for lots of band pics and old flyers. Nice modern touches to a classic revisit to an old layout that has always worked since first release.
Art by @skarhead, commission for chapter 1 of King’s Crossing by LowerEastSide
Around October of last year I made this tiny 4x6 inch print based off of this piece @skarhead. This was my very first time working with a drawing by another artist and I'm so excited to finally be able to share it. ❤️
Commissions
one more thing I wanted to mention...(I tried and failed at donations and commissions before but I think I can handle this now)
I’m opening up commissions through May 25th and trying this structure
$3 for a one-page full color art
$10 for a five page comic (full color)
$20 for a ten page comic (full color)
if you end up doing this please send whatever through my kofi: https://www.ko-fi.com/skarhead
it can be anything you want and I will send you the final files for you to post or keep or whatever you choose (though I’ll prob reblog it from you if you do post it)
Please message me if you donate with what you want as well as
character visual preferences
plot etc if you want or... if you want it to come from a fic or something you or someone else has written
image elements
visual styles you like
anything else super important to you
Please send me an ask with details on what you want and let me know you donated! I’ll follow you and we can talk about it more over chat (I’ll make the rounds of the 25th !!! if anyone actually does this)
-give me some time to get back to you
-it may take me several weeks to finish a comic just as an FYI if you need something on a deadline I am...not the right person to go to
-minors please don’t commission (I am a grown ass adult and just don’t want to be talking to a minor solo on the internet...cool? cool)
I think that is all for now and thank you! I am always amazed that anyone likes my art and regardless of if we interact or not...your support means more than anything to me and my dreams of a life where I don’t work a white-collar job 100 hours a week
