Happiness
by: Alibaba
Happiness is something we own, something we create, and something we treasure the most. It is something that we are looking for every day in our lives because we all deserve to be happy. I really thought that you can only be happy when there are so many people around you, making you feel alive always because you know they are the source of your happiness, but that is just that, so you think of moments in your life.
I really love this quote because it reminds me of how I used to depend on the happiness of the people around me without realizing that people come and go and that if they choose to go far away, you will be devastated and feel like the world has just stopped. It’s devastating really, but then I realized that happiness must be developed internally; it cannot be found in the environment we live in. Temporary happiness may be brought by external factors like relationships or achievement, but lasting contentment comes from the way we think and live. We give ourselves the ability to bring about enduring peace when we accept the things we cannot control and concentrate on the things we can.
We may take charge of our own well-being and stop waiting for the world to change when we realize that happiness is dependent on ourselves. We can learn to appreciate the present moment and realize that true joy is a reflection of our inner state rather than our external circumstances by practicing mindfulness, self-compassion, and appreciation.
