My kids have to do virtual learning today and it's honestly so insane. I have to work so, I have been having to get on and off at my job to help my youngest son who has never done virtual learning. I can hear the other kids in his class. Some are literally yelling for absolutely no reason, shouting out, she keeps having to mute them all in order to direct class. It's like herding cats. What a lesson in futility. I don't know why they make them do this, it's so stupid. I was in the bathroom and heard "WHAT THE SIGMA!" Then the teacher goes "BEN, THAT'S ENOUGH!" Ben, come on bro.

It snowed about 4 inches but no one has been able to get out to enjoy it because they've been "virtual learning" aka listening to their classmates talk out of turn for 3 hours.

I understand they don't want the kids to be in school until the end of June but, be so fucking for real with us. This is not helping anyone.

I meant it when I said it's fucking hilarious that ableds couldn't stand living two years the way disabled and sick people are forced to live our entire lives. I BEGGED for most of my school years to have access to a webcam and just do my learning virtually, and was told it wasn't feasible. So instead I was forced to go school every day in pain, severely sick from Crohn's, immunocompromised and constantly getting sick because parents would send their kids to school with colds or the flu, and I was forced to go to school while contagious because I had already used up my sick days by the time cold season came around.

But the VERY MOMENT ableds were at risk of contagion the world ground to a halt and offered virtually learning. And you all were so self entitled that you couldn't be happy with it. Things had changed and you couldn't stand it. You were inconvenienced, and so you complained the things that were enacted for YOUR protection. And now those protections are gone and people are still dying.

I was forced out of school for being too sick to attend. I was ruining their precious attendance records and Truancy was breathing down my neck. It seemed better to just drop out than risk arrest.

Now there are kids just as vulnerable as me who cannot attend school because they're too much at risk from #covid and the virtual options and the mask mandates are now gone. They have to sacrifice their educations to save their lives, because YOU were too selfish and privileged to realize how relatively good you had it for two years.

A college student says a professor told her not to breastfeed her baby during online class

A California college student says she was told by her professor she could not breastfeed her baby during an online class, prompting an apolo

She won!

After a professor said that he required students to have their cameras and microphones turned on during class time, a mom named Marcella Mares emailed him and explained that she may need to turn off her camera when nursing her daughter.

He replied to her, "That's not what you should be doing during class. Do that on your own time." Mares reported, "The first thing he says to the whole class in our Zoom meeting was, 'I got this really weird email from a student stating she needed to do inappropriate things during lecture time. You guys need to understand that you have priorities now, and you need to put all those distractions aside or be creative when your child needs you and give your full attention in my class.'"

Mares said his comments made her feel humiliated. Then, SHE schooled him by going to her Title IX coordinator. See how she stood up for her right to breastfeed in private while on Zoom, and hopefully show others who need to know.
