Hi Nina! After losing interest in cosplay over the last few years, your Sheik cosplay inspired me to decide on cosplaying an art nouveau design by Hannah Alexander! The problem is, I'm a huge perfectionist - sometimes I get so obsessed with producing a perfect end result, that I'll legitimately feel bad when things don't turn out the way I want them to. Have you ever been fixated on perfecting details of a cosplay? And did this affect how you felt about wearing it?

Spacey ask : Mars, Betelgeuse, Centaurus!

Mars: What’s your sexuality?

I personally identify as a polyamorous pansexual, since I would have no problem dating people of all genders and dating several people at once (but it has to be a balanced relationship between all of us). However, I lean more towards women / feminine presenting people.

Betelgeuse: What’s something you can never forget about?

The beauty of this planet and the crimes mankind has done against itself and this planet. Also the fact that the universe is just unexplainable and that we might never fully understand it.

Centaurus: Favourite holiday?

My favourite holiday would most likely be the Tag der Arbeit (1st May). The weather is usually great, you can do a lot of things outside. Also it is a day meant to reward and honor workers for the great achievements they make every day to make people’s lives better.

Random asks! ✍ What are three things you would physically change about yourself for cosplay or regular life? If you were a magical girl or witchling, what kind of specific powers/familiar would you like to have? If you had an unlimited budget, what kind of dream cosplays/photo locations would you pursue?

Went to bed last night, so I’ll answer this now!

3 things I’d change:

Honestly, I’m pretty happy with my physical appearance, so I’d probably change health-related things. To keep it cosplay-related, maybe make myself capable of Jojo posing >:D

Magical girl:

Hmmm. I have no idea. I’m really not a magical girl kind of a person. I have always figured that if I’m in a video game-type situation, though, I’d probably either be basically the tank character or someone who stays mostly out of combat and deals mostly in information.

Dream cosplays and shoots:

So many. I would love to do a bunch of Sakizou designs, but that’s at least in the realm of possibility. My long-term dream has been one of the later forms of Eve in Parasite Eve, but it’s probably physically impossible.

As for shoots, a combination of really extravagant location shoots and really extravagant studio shoots. Things like shooting Lady Oscar actually at Versailles, or actually yachting around Italy as Bruno, or Ultimecia at some actual crumbling old castles. My ultimate dream is one that will never happen -- Ulala in the queue for Space Mountain at Disneyland -- though I guess with literally unlimited amounts of money, I could possibly rent out the whole park. For studio-type shoots, it would be really cool to get some actual high fashion photographers and do Jojo shoots. I would also be willing to build elaborate sets as well as travelling to locations, such as making the Van Gogh painting looking place from Chrono Cross. 

I have a couple of other dream shoots that are a bit more attainable, such as that scene in the Utena movie where Anthy is drawing Utena and she’s hiding behind a giant sketchbook (with all that red drapery in the background), and doing the part of the opening animation of the Rose of Versailles where Oscar is all wrapped up in vines, or doing a shoot with Jolyne’s shirt made of handcuffs that I still really want to make.

Overall, I’d probably just make more costumes and attend more cons if I had unlimited funding, and make more elaborate costumes with more expensive materials. 

Of course, if I had unlimited money, I would also become a patron to other cosplayers and fund their dream projects and shoots, unless there’s stipulations on this hypothetical unlimited cash supply where I have to use it on myself. :P

Hi there! I was wondering if you've done an FAQ on hand mixers/stand mixers yet? I'm a novice/medium skill level cook, looking to buy a brand new hand mixer for myself (ranging somewhere from $10-$25). I'd really just like to know what brands are sturdy, durable, and easy to use for a first-time buyer? Thank you!~

Nose! Stomach! Feet??

Nose: What is your favorite perfume/candle fragrance?

I could wax (eyy) poetic about candle smells for hours, probably. (let’s go with candle because i’m not really familiar with perfume). but we don’t have hours. So: today, i smelled a beeswax candle, and that was AWESEOME. so either that or one of those woodsy, piney smells.

Stomach: Do you feel confident in your body image?

On the whole: yes! I look cool: this is a fact. On the half: i want to work up some more Asskicking Muscle and idk„, sometimes i just wish i could change things up more, you know? like day to day. I feel like I have a good Default Avatar but sometimes i want it to look different but there’s no Mod Mode Cheat Code in this game. :T

Feet: Favorite pair of shoes?

toss up: i have these short brown boots that lace in the front and zip in the back they’re Solid. I also have these old black faux-converse-esque sneaks that  I don’t wear anymore, but i painted up one of them with fun blue patterns and i wish they held up more to the Trials of Time but alas, all existential things are mortal.

SIREN: If you could make anyone do anything, what would you make them do?

I would probably do something interesting a little morally questionable like force a racist and/or homophobic rich-dude to pour all his resources into combatting malaria or improving clean water accessibility. Hehehe

FAERIE: If you could get away with anything, what would you do?

I already do them.

GHOST: Do you have any regrets?

Ah, yes. In fact, I have 3. And here they are, in order of chronology:

1. I borrowed 25 cents from a friend in elementary school so that I could buy a cool eraser out of the cool eraser dispensing machine. I regret that I never paid it back. And I probably never will, because at this point I have no clue what she looked like or what her name was.

2. There was this Piece of SHIT boy in my weekend Japanese school who would make life a living hell for the teacher and be totally disrespectful and ringlead half the boys into becoming horrible little monsters. Our teachers tended to quit the year after our class had at them. Yeah. Also he sat behind me once and flicked staples at the back of my head. He also called me totally shitty things, the mildest of which was “stupid bitch” and the worst of which was “you smell bad like an indian person.” Like, seriously, he had to be a fucking racist on top of everything else. What I highly regret is that I didn’t break his nose and kneecaps.

3. Not having done rock climbing for my whole life because holy shit is it fun.
