I’m finally getting somewhere with this whole dragon sitch. No thanks to Delphine, and all thanks to Esbern. This guy knows his shit.
I don’t know why we didn’t just talk to him sooner. But I guess we wouldn’t have known where to find him if I didn’t get the information at the most boring of Thalmor parties. Delphine is lucky something good came of it.
For answers Esbern suggested that we go to Skyhaven Temple, the old fort of sorts of the Blades. What a fun trip. Delphine said that we could travel together or I could meet them there. Can you guess which option I chose?
So, when Lydia and I arrived it was just in time to battle a gazillion blood thirsty forsworn and a dragon. It was an interesting fight. The forsworn didn’t know if they should attack us or the dragon. They’re not very bright.
At the actual temple I had to use my blood to open the most creepy door I’ve ever seen. It was just a huge face, and it freaked me out.
Inside was something actually pretty cool: an old artifact called Alduin’s wall. It portrayed a history of how the Nords dealt with the last dragon problem seen in Skyrim. It turns out that a dragon named Alduin is the one that has been raising the rest from the dead. And he’s known as the world eater. I’m taking from context clues that that’s a bad thing for Nirn.
Esbern was sooooo excited to talk about it. Look at him over there. We’ve finished discussing the issue and I need to be on my way, and he’s still talking and talking and talking. Wow, he loves history.
According to the wall I have to learn a shout called dragonrend to defeat Alduin. Guess where I have to go to find more information on this shout? Night-mother effing High Hrothgar. I’m so tempted just to let Alduin feast on our planet to his heart’s content so I don’t have to walk back up those damn stairs, and hang out with those boring men again. They’re nice and all, but that’s a long trip to take where the destination is so boring. Not much of an emotional pay off. I really wish there was a fast way to travel…
