wow wow wow! so much happening for SkyFest!! i visited all of the live events today, and here’s what i saw.
first the big keynote, the state of sky.
seeing these massive crowds is crazy, and to see acknowledgement of the QOL improvements players are looking for? yes!!! i am so hopeful seeing the votes on reducing the grind in sky. i quit playing right before season of aurora because of it.
we have confirmation on 4 seasons. Duets, Moomin, and in 2025 there will be two seasons for the Two Embers. my prediction is that it will be for the dawn ember, then the dusk ember, played alongside the release of the series. i think that it will be the summer and fall seasons, and that there will be a spring season between moomin and two embers.
there was confirmation that the clip is at the end of the first episode.
then onto the guided tour! as a game developer, this was SO COOL to see! one prototype in here looks like something i have made before. its reassuring to see that familiar environment and know what it can become.
there was certainly some tech issues, but it was neat to be toured around, and i have a recording of it. seeing all the techy background just makes me so happy.
myself and @serenefork attended events together, and took a break in the middle to watch the AURORA concert! (EVERYONE can watch it for free now, just visit the office and the cape is on display for use!)
moving on, the tech keynote was VERY INTERESTING to me, as its the things i am actively studying. they mentioned looking for people to hire and by god i wish i was there in person to ask questions and get info out of these engineers. it was a bit funny to turn around and see the room much emptier than the first keynote, though.
overall, a lovely time! its good to see all the info on the problem solving done to make such cool events real. here’s to the betterment of sky! see y’all tomorrow!
