I think my favorite Skyrim theory ever is that because Alduin decided to try and dominate the world instead of devour it as he was supposed to do at the appointed time, he lost all right to decide its fate.

As soon as he refused his task in order to feed his arrogance and greed for power over creatures, the fate of Nirn was stripped from him, and the prophecy that the Dragonborn fulfills was set in motion.

Alduin gets trapped in time, stalled for a while, until the fates converge to bring a certain prisoner to Skyrim.

Then, Skyrim’s fate is in the Dragonborn’s hands.

Alduin forfeited all say in the fate of the place he felt he had the right to meddle with.

That’s why Akatosh orchestrated or allowed or whatever, the Dragonborn to smack down his son.

I like it.

Lately been ruminating on how Female Dovahkiins can be when you take into account the ‘Lore’ of Dov all being male, while Jills are the ‘female dragons’ who mend reality.

But in truth we aren’t given essentially ANY information beyond that on the Jills. We don’t know if they use the Thu’um, if they are domineering the same way their brethren are, where in space/time they dwell outside of their ‘job’.

And in the event of a Female Dovahkiin, does that mean that they technically have the soul of a Jill instead? Is their purpose in defeating Alduin instead essentially to ‘mend’ this reality that Alduin wants to devour?

It’s always pretty obvious when someone doesn’t know that books in Skyrim (and other tes games) sometimes lie just by how they talk about different events in the lore

Have you ever wondered what Arch-Curate Vyrthur would look like with normal eyes? We found this in the game files (and this was actually not Vyrthur's model) 👇

There are 7 Snow Elf models in Skyrim files in total - Gelebor, Vyrthur and 5 Prelates in ghost form (Sidanyis, Athring, Celegriath, Nirilor, Edhelbor).

Me and my friend @guiquart were curious about how those Snow Elves look like without ghost skin. But in the game files we found something very unexpected.

When we removed the ghost skin and looked at the standard textured models, it turned out that one of them, Prelate Sidanyis, was actualy Arch-Curate Vyrthur but with normal eyes. This is what Vyrthur would look like if he wasn't a vampire (and I personally think he looks beautiful, kind and charming).

Those vampire eyes change his appearance so much, don't they? He is like baby/evil here.

Moreover, they all had these pale red robes as temple clothes.

Bonus: Vyrthur actually has another name. Althadan. And maybe this is not a name at all but a transliteration of some word in Falmeris, we don't know to be honest. 👀✨️

The College of Winterhold storyline is SO INSANELY FRUSTRATING, the way it introduces a bunch of questions and plot thread, then have literally all the things that need to be resolved (The Psijic Order, The Eye of Magnus, why Morekai had the Staff of Magnus, The Augur of Dunlain, The Great Collapse, etc.) either never be mentioned again OR LITERALLY DISAPPEAR ENTIRELY is actually such poor writing.

Don't even get me started on the characterization of Savos Aren, where we're told he's this excellent Arch-mage who cares about his students, but then lets students blow up, or go missing (aka die). And why did he even let such an obvious Thalmor spy in the college in the first place? It screams either negligence or ignorance and both of those are bad options.

There were literally so many great options to explore The Great Collapse and uncover the mystery of why it happened (assuming the College caused it).

You could even use it as an excuse to dive into the lore of ancient Dragon Cults and Dragon Priests. Like literally Sarthaal and Labrynthian are RIGHT THERE. Both of these locations have ties to ancient nords/Dragon Priests/Dragon Cults. Where is my Dragon Cult resurgence now that Alduin has returned, huh Todd Howard??

Anyway as I'm working on hammering the plot out for the webcomic The College of Winterhold's storyline has been an ABSOLUTE PAIN to incorporate because of how many unanswered questions it leaves. I haven't yet fully found a solution that both nicely ties together all the loose ends while not just making shit up (although that is what it feels the writers did for this story in the first place so maybe I'd be justified in making shit up).

I feel like we’re missing out a lot on the moon cycle thing with TES khajiit personally. They should give me the option to be a giant buff lion and just go ham. Alternatively: Housecat and then I just play through Skyrim Stray style. Just saying.

Guys guys I have a skyrim thought again bear with me

Paarthurnax, taking the place of Alduin after the LDB slays him, is intent to teach the other dragons the way of the voice, supposedly like he did with the grey beards, right?

But the way of the voice is a Kyne thing, while the dragonborn/dragon stuff is from Akatosh, thus why the LDB doesn't need to follow the way of the voice and all, right?

Does that mean that Paarthurnax is, in a way, leading dragon kind astray from Akatosh?

Leaning further into the teachings of Kyne? What would that imply, in a mass effect? Would Akatosh forsake them, in turn? What would that mean for dragons? For the dragonborn(s)?

Ill do one better, will they perhaps become mortal, as Kyne seems to be more into the cycles of things where Akatosh is more into eternal, timeless stuff? Would that build a divide between dragons? No priests are left, and so far only the LDB shares the dragonblood and all, right?

That would be a very interesting idea for a new era (or whatever storyline that follows skyrims events) for dragons, in which they've 'fallen from grace' and become mortal, due to choosing Kyne over Akatosh. Perhaps then they'd develop a way to reproduce and thus saving the race as a whole, but in turn losing a great deal of power.
