"Didn't you miss me, bluebird?"
Models: Ghirahim, Fi, Skyview Spring, Poses
Finally finished this one for an art trade - got sick and was quite intimidated by the whole thing, so this one took a while. I do love the colours in this area, and I love Fi's design, so all things considered I still had a good time. Though it turned out quite wonky in a few spots, whew.
Slightly blurry photo to show off the shimmer:

I'm excited about Skyward Sword HD and wanted to practice backgrounds, so here's the Skyview Spring!

Day 25: Your favorite dungeon/temple
Skyview Temple (Skyward Sword)
I will say the criteria for this day was not how one would logically judge a dungeon. It's not based off of the puzzles or challenges offered by this dungeon, but based off of the design of the dungeon and how it affected me throughout the rest of the game.
This is the first dungeon visited in the game and since Skyward Sword is the first game in the series chronologically, it's the first temple ever visited by a Link in the entire legend. So that's a pretty big deal.
The design of the temple fits in beautifully with Faron Woods. I'm not sure if this is because I'm an architecture major but, as I've said in other posts, the design of a video game is incredibly important and the Legend of Zelda has such a high standard and it never disappoints. I love how there is the initial entrance that you see in Faron Woods is actually only the entrance to the Deep Woods, a separate location where the Skyview Temple actually is. This makes the temple seem even larger by having this entire area included as the sort of courtyard of the Temple.
Once you are inside the temple it is dark and damp but then once you progress past the first area, you come upon this enormous chasm which makes you feel incredibly small and wanting to see what other architectural feats this temple has to offer. And that is answered once you defeat Ghirahim and proceed to the Skyview Spring, which pretty much speaks for itself. Little birds chirp and fly around while the waterfall create such a peaceful environment. It has such beauty and serenity that when I first saw it, I knew, without a doubt, that this game was going to be nothing less than amazing.
