I've been seeing a lot of anons defending Michel and I'm just tired of it.

First of all, why waste time on sending those when it's obvious that it's pointless except that it causes drama in the fandom and we already have enough of that in the show.

Secondly, Michel already came across as a stalker when he first arrived here. Trust me, I've seen people saying this that don't even watch the entire show, just that one scene said enough.

Also, when he came to Matteo to ask for his blessing, he only knew Luna for a few days and he already wanted to date her.

Somehow he thinks that being "soul twins" as her friends stated automatically means there's romantic feelings involved.

He always just assumed she felt the same way which is honestly stupid.

Then you have ep 46 when she literally tells him she just wants to be friends and he claims to be okay with that while after that, he kisses her with no way of escaping.

Also he knew that Luna still had feelings for Matteo, otherwise he wouldn't have told her what Matteo said to him because it wouldn't be necessary if she doesn't feel anything.

Don't tell me he's a good guy when he pulls this shit.

Then you have her friends saying that she should give him a chance so she could forget Matteo while a few seconds earlier, she literally told them she just sees him as a friend. They're trying to force her into a relationship she has no interest in being in.

Anyway, I'll stop here because I could say a 1000 things more but I'm not going to do it.

For the Michel fans, don't bother coming into my inbox because the only thing you'll achieve is me ranting even more

I'm trying to find some good resources about panel structure in comics, and I've found like seven different types of this shit:

i’m going against the grain here to say I think it’s valid to critique these webcomics and have a blog where people can do such, but the way you go about it is wrong imo

you don’t just give your thoughts and criticisms and how to improve those things. you keep going. you make dozens upon dozens of posts about the same comic. you repeat yourself over and over. you constantly beat a dead horse

if any known art critic focused so heavily on one artist and their works, making dozens of articles or whatnot about this old person, they’d be seen as a major dick instead of someone respectable

just make your point and move on. constantly posting about someone stops being genuine criticism and starts becoming harassment/bullying. at some point a slew of the same posts stop being helpful

Thing is, anon, that this blog was never meant to be a professional source of information regarding webcomics. It's a place to let people comment about stuff they want, most of the time I'm not the one bringing up repeated points. And even despite my desire to let people comment anything, I do have a filter to avoid nasty shit. A couple of days ago, someone was trying to tell me about the new account of an author and I didn't publish that to protect their privacy. Same with asks that are straight up insulting people (luckily there's very few of those).

I understand it can get repetitive, but I don't think we've ever had a topic lasting longer than two months. And even then, these aren't magazine articles or YouTube videos, these are random posts. What are we, Reddit, where you can't post about the same topic twice a month?

Also, why is it unhelpful to repeat points here, but readers can repeat "yay Goose" and similar comments ad nauseam in one page? Why are we always the ones blamed for having normal fucking conversations? People follow the comics they like for months, we do the same, the only difference is that we don't lick the floor of the comic as it goes. Most of the times we are fans, not fanatics, we enjoy analizing what we read.

Anyways, thanks for your ask, I always appreciate a second opinion, even if I disagree with it.

Thing is, all these comic makers you're shitting on, they do take criticism. You're just an asshole. And it's generally wise to not care about the opinions of assholes.

You already chased one creator off the internet, and now you're trying to do it again. Why don't you go do something productive, like volunteer or advocate for positive change in your community, instead of bullying people who are just trying to have fun?

Oh! Do they? Like SongDog does, by deleting any comment that dares to doubt their genius? Good way to take criticism, hide it under the rug before your fans realize your work isn't perfect. A shame SongDog's censoring paws can't reach this blog.

Anon, if you really think talking about how your comic's ending was rushed is comparable to harassment, you're only proving my point that you can't handle having any negative comment about your work.

Sorry babies, but that's the basic rule of publishing anything. People are going to give their opinion about it, like it or not! And some might be much less forgiving than I am.

If you can't handle that, then don't publish your work. Keep making art, always make art, but don't make a fool of yourself by publishing it and filtering all the comments to leave only the flattering. You'll only look immature.

Funny that you bring up volunteering and "making a positive change on your community", because I already do that. What about you? Or you prefer to waste your time on the Internet like I do, only by white knighting grown adults from imaginary threats?

And finally. "Just want to have fun" is a textbook example of how people who wants to be seen as "progressive" avoid comments calling out their own bigotry. "Oh, it's just fanfic, it's not that deep! Oh, it's just a children book, no kid will ever think about that! You're the party pooper! Can't you just leave us alone?". Sorry, but I've seen them all and they're all childish excuses to avoid introspection.

I think my main issue with Edge as a villain is that he falls really short in either way of the spectrum. He doesn't have the charisma and the queer coding of a character like Scar to be fun to watch and he doesn't look cruel or intimidating enough to impose with his presence. And this last one is crazy considering how he almost tortured Hopeful to death (but stopped when his baby boy told him to) and killed a child (but let's face it, Quiet was barely a character to begin with).

And then there's the most popular complain that the fact that Edge being based on a capitalist CEO simply doesn't click to me. Yeah, sure, CEOs are the current bane of humanity in this planet, but the idea doesn't translate properly in an animal world were they don't use money and even worse, they use medieval titles like kings and knights. It doesn't sound serious, it's giving kids movie where the evil guy is a CEO from a construction company who wants to cut down the magic forest. Do I explain myself? Probably not.

No, I don't care how much they say "it's a joke that he's a CEO", because even in normal asks about him they answer stuff like "that's how a capitalist thinks", like BFR.

For last, maybe don't make your Big Bad Guy get beat up and forced to flee in the first half of the comic. It takes away all intimidation he could have had. Imagine the first Star Wars movie having Darth Vader fall down the stairs 30 minutes in.

I've blocked a TON of blogs in February and honestly? Knowing I won't ever again run into these fucked up people and their fucked content is amazing. Do I think these people need a good few years with a therapist? Hell yes! Is it my job to convince them of that? Hell no! I like myself a little too much for that.

I can, and will, rant in private about some of them to get it off my chest, but that's human. This is my place to enjoy myself and even the thought of accidentally running into these people's content (some of whom I used to follow) was making me not want to come on here.

The pressure to live and let live, to not judge no matter what, had started to make this place into something awful for me. So I am judging people and I am jettisoning them from my life if they make my life worse and more stressful. Just because this is all online doesn't mean it has zero affect on you. If you, your viewpoint, and/or your content makes me want to puke... why should I continue to force myself to look at it or if I already unfollowed, accidentally run across it again?

The answer is that I shouldn't and so I won't. And it feels great, it really does.
