Everything disappears the second my body crashes onto the spring mattress. It's a modest Nirvana where absolutely nothing exists for seven to eight hours. No worries. No guilt. No monsters—not even fantasies. Once I wake up and realize I have been dreaming of nothing. I relish the fact of almost not existing and hurry back to sleep, excited to disintegrate between the covers again.
