He had always wondered what the books he’d studied during his youth meant when they described Redoran architecture as being inspired by the carapaces of giant King Crabs. He finally understood why after he’d first laid eyes on Skar and noticed just how similar the adobe domes that rose out of the ash and dirt were to that giant, hollowed-out shell that housed the Redoran elite's manors. He wondered if Under Skar still smelled like fish?

Quick holy Saturday sketch. Kinda "zombie" I guess, but the idea of the buried Christ clearing the underworld gave me an image of the dead waking, beginning to breath again (zombies don't breathe, right?), still caught between dirt and life... Dunno, found it appealing but had no time for more than this quick sketch. I know "sleepers awake" wasn't written for this specifically, but used the german as a caption anyway. :P

Started as a question on Tumblr...ended in a series of first person povs. The first being Jiub on the Nerevarine (Teldryn Sero here). Each chapter is its own self contained "short" and will be added as I finish :) All POVs related to both my main line fics, Sleepers Awake (Morrowind, to be posted by there's some outside content up here) and Serious Mistakes (Skyrim fic).

“You could have just woken me, you know,” you whispered in my ear as you reached for the pages I had been writing, slender fingers brushing against mine, calloused from years of swordplay. The ring on your finger glittered in the renewed light. Moon-and-Star, the symbol of your rank, your identity amongst our people. A destiny you spent your every waking moment trying to forget. The contrasting twin metals vibrated with a unique enchantment, the stone at the centre of the star the cause of it all. It was always warm to the touch, something you always complained about. You kissed along the angle of my jaw as you finally managed to pull the pages from my hands. “What part is this then?” you mumbled, your voice still thick with sleep. I knew that you had not rested enough. “Is it the part about you garnering the ‘ adoration of tens of thousands?’ ” You laughed at that last part, though there was always a hollowness to it. Too much had transpired in your life – the fact that you still managed to laugh at all was a wonder to me, so I cherished it every time. I twisted in my seat, to better face you. You had stepped back a few paces, silently reading from the pages you had managed to wrestle out of my grip. You had a look of focus on your face, your thick brow furrowing, dark hair falling in your eyes as you lazily brushed it to the side. You’d cut it recently, trimming the back so that it rested around your shoulders, the front always uneven and unruly. You had told me once that you had given up hope of it ever growing back.

July's prompt challenge, the prompt being "The sound of a blade being sharpened." So thanks for that one Thanatopsiturvy, this thing happened.

I've been playing around with the concept of "how exactly did the Nerevarine's corprus get cured" for a while now (I do not buy that simple potion shite) and used this as an opportunity to explore how that might work. Oh, I also spawned a multi-chapter Morrowind fic from this. Whoops.

Turned into a lot of Morrowind-style dreams. Fair warning, this is strongly on the horror side.
