not a request, just more soft Adam stuff
kind of a follow up to my previous request
After that one incident, naps become yours and Adam’s thing, and you have them just about anywhere.
One time he found you sleeping on the floor of the parlor (because floor naps are special) and he straight up just laid down and draped a wing over you. If you find him asleep before you, you can just climb on top of his stomach or back and sleep there. (he likes the pressure) There was another time when you two were so comfortable you slept nearly the whole day.
bonus if you also have feathered wings
Okay, I know that has been in my inbox for soooooooo long and I am soooo sorry about that, but with season 2 being that good. I went back and reread all my Sinner!Adam fics and I had the urge to finally write again.
This ficlet became something more. I did choose certain bits in your 'prompt of sorts' I hope this is okay.
Sequel to this fic
When I awoke mid-morning still wrapped in the comforting embrace of Adam. I instantly thought that he’d push me off and retreat in on himself. Making whatever this was would just come down to a one off. A fluke of a created connection. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that it could or would ever happen again.
After that one night staying up into the wee small hours trying to expand Adam’s musical pallet. I started to notice that whenever he was nearby or stepped into the same room as me that there would be a soft warming presence that would also follow and permeate the space we shared. Thinking this was just my mind playing tricks on me. I tried my best to ignore it. I really wished it was as easy as that.
I had started to notice my chronic insomnia was not shifting and ruining all chances of a good night's sleep again. I’m pretty sure Adam could see that I was more like a walking shadow of my normal self. I could see the worry in his eyes like he wanted to help but didn’t know how.

“You good?” He asked as he followed me into the communal kitchen late that evening.
“Hmm? Oh yeah, I’m just a bit cold is all. I’m waiting for my washing to finish its cycle. So, no hoodies, cardigans or jumpers at the moment. I’m okay tho’.” I choose to focus more on the mug in front of me. “I’m sure if I keep drinking green tea that I'll warm back up again.”
Adam huffs out a laugh. Of course, he would find that funny. I was so focused on prepping the hot water for my tea bag that I didn't notice the faint shuffle of clothing behind me.
“Hey, do you want a-Mffff! What the . . .??” He pushes his rucked-up hoodie over my head.
“Arms!” He declared in an authoritive voice. Still in a strange state of shock I numbly push my arms into the sleeves. His very oversized hoodie falls past my hips and covers me in that same warmth from our last shared night together.
“Urm, thanks I was gonna ask do you want a coffee but aren't you gonna be cold.” I turn to look at him.
“Coffee yes but as for the hoodie. Nah, I still got a couple I can snag outta my room. I tend to run hot anyway. You can just borrow this one ‘til your laundry is done. I will be taking this one back.” He plucks at the fabric. “You ain’t keeping my favourite hoodie. Even if it looks really good on you.”
I can feel my cheeks start to flush; I spin back to face the counter to start making him a black coffee.
“Thanks, I guess.” I try and find the words, but the overwhelming scent of him seeps back into my senses. I’m thrown back into that moment after our pinching fight. (That I totally won) I didn’t mean to fall asleep but there was something about the warmth, comfort and smell of him that just allowed my body to relax and apparently fall asleep on top of him. Being able to smell that calming musk again had me try to stifle a yawn. His hoodie was perfectly warmed as the fabric held his body heat wonderfully. It really might be difficult for me to give it back to him.
I pour him a generous amount of fresh coffee and turn back to hand it to him.
“Ahh, you’re a legend. Laters.” Adam ruffles my hair before he walks away.
I watch him go as I lean back against the counter, pulling the collar of the hoodie into my face and inhale deeply the fabric. I can feel my entire body relax into the sense of safety that made me feel like I could finally fall asleep and rest my aching body. I remembered that I came into the kitchen for a reason and finished making my tea. Before I shuffled off to the sofas in the lobby again. I had started a new monster romantasy book and it was starting to get good.
When I made it to the seating area, I was struggling to stay awake. Maybe I could shut my eyes for a little while then carry on with my book. Yeah, that sounded like a great plan. Nap then read my book. Setting my tea down, I flop back onto the couch and lay out on the cushions. My head didn't even hit the corner pillow before I was out like a light. I was so gone I didn’t realize that I was too close to the edge and when I rolled over in my sleep I dropped onto the plush carpet, snoring lightly.

Adam was walking past the laundry room and saw that the machines were done. Deciding to lend a hand to his exhausted friend, he swapped over the clothes that needed to go into the dryer and hung up the clothes that couldn’t be flung in the machine.
“Better go tell them their clothes are nearly done.”
Not knowing where to start, he wandered the lobby area. Checked the bar, the dining room, and the kitchen he was about to walk to the elevator to try your room. When he passes the seating area again, it looked empty on first glance but when he took a closer look, he saw a half open book draped on the couch arm and walking closer he noticed a shape of a sinner on the floor.
Wait, wasn’t that his hoodie? Hang on they aren’t asleep, are they?
He snuck closer and low and behold laid out on the floor lightly snoring away was you. He smiles down at you. His main thought was how is that comfortable? But seeing how peaceful you looked had him move the coffee table further away from you. He sat down next to you for a while before he chose to lay down on his stomach, resting his cheek against his crossed arms. Just watching how relaxed and happy you looked. He stretched his wings straight up in the air before lightly resting his right wing over you in a protective manner. He could watch you for hours. He had an overwhelming urge to protect this sleeping sinner. His friend, no that also didn’t fit right. Whatever you guys were friends didn’t fit the page. Maybe he was reaching for something that didn’t fit you both just yet, but that would be a conversation for another time.
The longer he watches you, the more he notices that the floor was actually rather comfortable, maybe he could just rest his eyes for a second. He could get back to writing his new song in five minutes. Yeah. That’s it just rests for 5 minutes. Then he can wake you up and tell you about your . . . your . . .
Adam didn’t even get to finish his thought. He was fast asleep, his body relaxed, letting his wing covering you press closer and curl around your body, pulling you further into his side.
------
When I woke up, I immediately noticed that the scent of Adam was much stronger than when I fell asleep. It was almost like he was right next to me again. Why was it dark in the lobby? Also, when did they put the heating on? Did someone put a blanket on me? I scrub at my face and had to clamp my hand over my mouth.
Adam. Adam was lying next to me, but we weren’t on the sofa (We’d never fit). We seemed to be on the floor. I dare not move in case Adam would wake and be angry at me. I have no idea what to do. I can hear other sinners nearby but nowhere near where we are laid out.
“Keep staring, I only get more handsome the longer you do.” Adam opens one eye, a soft smile on his lips broken by a loud yawn. “Damn is it morning already?” He pulled his wing back against himself again, kneeling up while offering a hand to help me up into a sitting position. “I think your laundry is done. So urm can I get that hoodie back?”
“Oh y-yeah sorry I didn’t mean to fall asleep, let alone on the floor. I could wash it for you if you want?”
“Nah, it’s okay. There is still a few days wear in it.”
I tug the hoodie off, feeling hands pulling my shirt down. When I get out of his hoodie, he lets go of my shirt.
“Thanks, big guy.” I handed his clothes back. He grabs it and then stands, holding out his other hand to pull me up as well. He pulled me up harder than needed, and I slam into his chest. He catches me before I fall backwards again.
“You always this clumsy?” He smirks.
“Ha ha, you know I'm not. Just couldn’t keep your hand off me.” I poke at his chest. He lets me go. “See you la-” I try to walk out of the seating area to stumble and fall over a barricade sort of sign.
“CHARLIE!!!!” I yell.
Sometime in the early morning she must have found us asleep again and designed a stupid barricade around us to stop sinners from taking pictures of us. I need to have words with her about actually designing a sign for ‘Sleeping Sinners do not approach’
Adam is more amused by my outburst than the stupid sign. He watches me stomp off trying to find Morningstar to yell at her about boundaries.
When he goes to leave, he notices my book still on the sofa arm he scoops it up to drop at my room later. As he walks back to his room, his hand holding his hoodie lifts to his face. He inhales the mixed scent of you and him, smiling into the fabric.
He needs to have that overdue conversation soon.

It had taken half the day to track down Charlie, she was clearly hiding from me, but I needed to let her know that there didn’t need to be an official sign for sleeping sinners and the pictures be of you and Adam. It defeated the object of the stupid barricade being put up to stop gossip.
I really wish she didn’t start crying on me. I accepted her apology but warned her to not do it again.
Riding the elevator to my floor. I stride out with my laundry basket full of fresh clean clothes. I can finally fold and put them away and in doing so free up the dryers for other sinners. I didn’t expect to see Adam sat by my door with my book open in his lap.
Oh shit! I left my book on the sofa.
I walk closer trying not to look mortified that he was reading it. “Hey big guy.” I must have spooked him because he launched my book and stood up ramrod straight.
“Heeeeeey bitch.” He tried to cover, seeing me frown, he ran a hand through his hair.
“Is that my book?” I put my basket down and pick up the book. “Didn’t take you for a literate.”
“Ouch, low blow.” He throws a sock at me, from the top of my laundry pile.
“Did you just wait here to throw my stuff around or was there a reason you waited for me?” I plop my book and sock back onto the pile, stand while pushing the basket into his hands so I can unlock my room.
“Urm, I was wondering if we could talk?”
“Oh yeah what about?” I reach for the basket again, but he pushes into my room and deposits it on my bed. Before sitting down next to it. “Please come on in.” I mumble more to myself as I walk over to him and sit down on the bed too.
“I urm I wanted to ask you something?”
“What is it?” I started pairing socks.
“Do you like me?”
I stop, putting the paired socks into the basket before putting it onto the floor
“Of course I like you. I mean you were an annoying little cunt in the beginning but-”
“I don’t mean it like that. Do you like me?” He puts more force behind the words. He hates being vulnerable and I don’t help by staying silent. “Ya know what his is dumb I’m gonna leave. You got your book back. I’ll see you later.” He stands to leave.
I grab his hand. “Yes.” He stops. “I like you, Adam.” I take a deep breath and continue “I feel safe enough to rest around you. You don’t realise that you help me in so many ways because of that. So, yes Adam. I like you.” My confession has him dropping to his knees and wrapping his arms around my waist. He buries his face into my lap, mumbling something into my legs. “I didn’t quite catch that?”
He turns his head to the side. “I said thank you.”
“Come on ya soppy sod. Give me a hand folding my laundry and maybe spend the day with me?”
He groans but smiling as he replies. “Urgh, work work work.” I push him onto his back, quickly climbing on top of him.
“Stop complaining or I won’t ask if you want to nap together later.” I lean in close our noses brushing.
“Only if you nap against my chest like this. I like the feeling of you on top of me.”
“Buy my dinner first.” I giggle.
“Oh get ya mind outta the gutter.” He groans pushing my face away. I grab his wrists pulling away so I can see him again.
“Of course we can nap this way.” I lean and kiss his nose lightly before climbing off him and offering a hand to help him back up. “Laundry first.”
“Laundry first.”

Hope you liked it even tho you had to wait so long for it.
