Basic Backstory:

Mabel is a soft spoken mudokon once held in captivity in a Feather Plantation in Nolybab. While the plantation homes have better conditions than factories and other manual labor facilities, the plantation houses are their own special type of torment. Being taken from their mothers upon hatching, mudokons raised in feather plantations serve one of two uses; to produce eggs as a queen, or for feather harvesting. The latter of which involves painful routine feather plucking and regrowth with the help of a Vykker developed formula called 'Plumage Serum' which causes the feathers to grow back at an unnaturally fast rate.

The feathers are then sold off to fashion industries, makeup companies, and furniture manufacturers at a high price. After hearing the rumors about Rupture Farms, Mabel escaped Nolybab with the help of her pet Sleg; Beetle. However the other mudokons in her section, including Mabel's sister Ava, decided to stay behind. Fearing the possible punishments should they get caught.
