honestly screw the proxy post, this is the longest post I've ever made

Slenderman Headcannons

General Headcannons:

He's the 4th oldest person in the mansion (losing to his brothers)

He's the youngest slenderbrother

~12'7"

2nd tallest though, only losing to Offender (~14'0")

Was born sometime in the 1600s so he's around 400 ish years old

Slenderbeings insides resemble that of a humans, they just have a severe lack of face

Well, that and the skin and tendrils and all that jazz

He and his family went into hiding around the time of the Salem witch trials because slenderbeings were starting to be killed off too

Slenderbeing ages are kinda like dog ages, they are younger to their own kind than they are to humans

Younger Slender:

Oh he used to be a nightmare to deal with

He would overuse and abuse his powers without caring (still does, just doesn't wanna call it that)

This lead to an issue with Zalgo, oopsies

Was that annoying younger sibling that brings their older siblings into their mess

They did not wanna be in his mess

But they fought anyway and won so Zalgo stopped at some point

Current Slender:

Swears (not all the time though)

Slang from the past 3 centuries are constantly being mixed together (it's horrendous)

EXTREME SAVIOR COMPLEX

Everyone in the mansion hates him in some way, shape, or form (except Sally, bless her heart, she's too sweet)

Powers (Green: All slenderbeings have this, Purple: Only Slender has this):

Teleportation: He can teleport basically anywhere he wants, it randomizes if he can't decide where to teleport, however.

Tendrils: The black tentacles on his back are like octopus legs, they can move on their own and can do multiple things at once. He can feel when people touch them, so don't get cocky. They're very slimey to the touch and can leave goo marks on anything they touch

Mind Control: He only uses this on the proxies (duh(although one could make the argument that the whole mansion is full of proxies)), and any pasta that's acting particularly spunky on any day

Media Corruption: This is the thing he mainly uses to get to the victims that enter his woods with any cameras or phones or anything, he hates it when people enter his woods with anything that records.

Slender Disease: All slenderbeings can cause this illness, it is the only thing they do without intention

Abnormal Morphing: Another thing all slenderbeings do, they can make their morphs permanent, which a lot do to have certain facial features (ex; Offender and Splendor)

Static Screech: There are two sets of ripples inside of slenderbeings throats, but there are a few who have only one, which cause their screams to be static-y. This is considered a birth defect among slenderbeings, only around 1% of their population has it.

Advanced Hearing: Slender has an odd power to hear anyone and anything in an about 118 miles radius. No one knows why he can do this, the leading theory from supernatural researchers is unchecked power.

"Sometimes I wonder if the mansion is an extension of Slender's conscious, cause how else does he keep track of us in here even if he's too far to directly control us?" - EJ

"The walls can be cut open like flesh, and then the marks appear on Slender. Me and EJ have talked about this before, but I think he's right, the mansion is an extension of Slender." - LJ

Slenderman Headcanons/Worldbuilding. (Mansion Au)

Identity.

Apathic to at best to the gender thing. In the way that he doesn't understand how he possibly conforms to the human standards but isn't bothered by it because at the end of the day, he views himself fundamentally superior humans.

On that note, Slenderman or whatever else he is called, is absolutely not his name, and he will never share what he calls himself.

If a proxy has written a diary/journey that retains any insight into Slender, he will destroy it, the proxy and any memory of the proxy.

Proxies.

Although Slender doesn't understand humans for the most part finds their behaviour interesting.

The proxies are a way he can study their behaviour while keeping them in a (relatively) controlled environment. Like bugs in a terrarium.

This is why he has so many and protects them to some extent. He understands that he has a skewed demographic by it's still interesting to him.

He only values the proxies that have killed before, or are willing to kill without his hand being forced. Part of this comes from the interest in human social taboos and the other part is nobody is really going to come looking for them apart from law enforcement.

The closest he comes to caring about a proxy, is like a pet. Despite how much he comes to be fond of a proxy, he'll never see them as an equal, just a thing he owns and is responsible for the wellbeing of.

Due to this he feels no guilt in manipulating a proxy.

Best case it's like how we manipulate our pets in order to get them to take their medicine or something.

Worse case scenario is he needs them especially for whatever means, and since they're disposable he'll do/say whatever he needs for them to do it and then abandons them afterwards.

Only the proxies that are able to kill someone for him, fight the slender sickness long to find him are worth his time.

There are probably hundreds of 'failed' proxies that he's left to die from the sickness, this is a benefit to him because of the cognitohazard of the sickness that will eventually lead someone of note to him.

With his curious inquiry of human behaviour and viewing the most cared for as pets, he very rarely intervenes in interpersonal conflicts, the only time he'll get between two proxies if the one he has further need for is at risk of death.

That and he understands if one of them does kill another it ruins the sanctity of the safety he's promised inside the mansion's walls.

Mansion.

Slender's physical anchor to the world.

In some way the longer Slender lingers in this place, the more blood that's spilled in his favour, and the more people that reside in it gives Slender more power and influence.

However this a symbiotic relationship.

The "Mansion" started a a mere cabin, what would be considered the foyer in current time. And nothing in the foyer or surrounding rooms can actually be broken by anyone other than Slender.

The pastas can't customise their rooms without express permission from Slender, any changes they make are reverted in real time.

The fringes of the mansion are the weakest and the most decrepit , there are mouldy halls that seem to grind into the soil, the mansion seems to have an ego and doesn't often let a pasta get that far into it.

On that note, the Mansion seems to have the psychic link to the pastas as Slender does, and they often find rooms based on vibes, and attempts to map the floor plans leads to a house of leaves situation.

But in order to not constantly disorientate the pastas there are some permanent and unchanging paths through the mansion.

This also works the opposite way, if Slender is upset with a pasta, the mansion will do it's best to disorientate the pasta in question.

While the mansion is a physical place, it moves.

Slender also has some control of the woods around the mansion, this is how it avoids getting discovered. Slender is able to confuse people's sense of direction so they are unable to reach it unless he wants them too.

He will do this the pastas aswell, them not being able to find the mansion is the equivalent of him locking the door and making them sleep outside for the night.

The forest can lead to any other forest in the world, the plants will seemly slowly morph in the local flora of the forest. This is entirely random.

And any forest can lead back to the mansion as long as the pasta has somehow contacted Slender, or has started to become subjected to Slender sickness.

(I'm a fan of setting being a character and wanted make the mansion au seem a little more unique. plus it'll help with a grounded sense of place if I actually write/draw with the mansion au)

General Hcs

I just realized there were somethings I haven’t expanded upon as much as I’d like.

So here’s the thing, while everyone else is working for the operator, sally isn’t, she’s just the ghost of a lonely girl who needs company.

The only reason the operator doesn’t make her work is:

The operators tricks and torture don’t really work on her. They fall null and void.

She didn’t really come in asking for a job.

You see, the operator doesn’t make people work for him, he just finds people at their worst and takes advantage of the situation.

Sally just showed up one day, and everyone else just went with it.

It wasn’t even close to the weirdest thing they’ve seen, after all.

Also, the groups/factions tend to have a closer dynamic because they all join at their worst.

It’s like this shared suffering.

They can all relate to being at their worst and being taken advantage of.

I realized I never really explained why they seemed to be so close.

I’m really excited that you asked, because I have a explanation that I would like to share! 

🌲 Slenderman is a member of the species called eirfindur. 

🌲 This species is ancient and their numbers today are very low. 

🌲 The characteristics of the eirfindur are... 

- Very tall (10 feet to 15 feet) 

- Long limbs that aren’t quite proportionate to the body 

- Long life span

- Completely white skin 

- Faceless 

- Natural powers (varies in each being) 

🌲 Tragically, the eirfindur are facing near extinction. 

🌲 The eirfindur may have a long life span, but it takes many years for a young one to grow up. In their childhood, the eirfindur doesn’t pose a threat and could be killed by a group humans. In infancy (which lasts several years) they are helpless babies/toddlers. They are easy to kill for one person. 

🌲 Adult eirfindur are much harder to kill, but they can be killed by a group of strong humans who know what they are doing and have the proper equipment. 

🌲 The humans have long been afraid of any species that is different from their own, and they fear the powers of a mature, adult eirfindur. 

🌲 The easy solution, in their mind, was to kill every eirfindur they could find. Especially the young ones, who are easy targets. 

🌲 The eirfindur species couldn’t repopulate enough, since it takes many years to reach sexual maturity and usually around two years for a full-term pregnancy. 

🌲 And even to start, the eirfindur species was not nearly as populous as the human species. Humans tend to have large families and it’s very common in human culture to have children (eirfindur culture does not place pressure to have families, only if the eirfindur couple feels very strongly about it).  

🌲 In order to protect his species from extinction, and guard his own family from any harm, he must take proper precautions. 

🌲 This is why he has proxies. 

🌲 Proxies guard the forest in which he (and other creatures who hide from the humans) dwells. 

🌲 Proxies are also there to gather intel, get groceries, and carry out business transactions for him. 

🌲 Slender does not enjoy having to “take care of” anybody. 

🌲 He does believe that life is precious. 

🌲 But, he knows that he needs to put his own species (and family) above others. 

🌲 That is why, if humans are in his forest for too long, if they get too close to the mansion, if they harm the forest, if they start to become close to figuring out the secrets of the forest, he must stop them. 

🌲 Another big reason why he has proxies is for security. 

🌲 If he went to handle any intruders himself, what would happen if one of them got away? Not only would they undoubtedly blab to the whole town, but we also live in the age of cameras and the Internet. He can’t risk having proof of his existence out there. 

🌲 Slender would never want to unnecessarily take lives, so everything that he does has a papertrail, is thought-out, and done out of necessity to protect the forest. 

🌲 It’s a tough job, but someone has got to protect the forest and his people.

-At first, Slender found it a tad childish. Like when you're told that paper is for drawing on, not your skin, like a mother scolding their child.

-But after time he got used to it and actually began admiring the art work

-Even if the drawings were just scribbles or shapes, he'd enjoy watching you doodle on your arm and be so attentive to it.

-He also prefers that to any destructive habits you might be curbing by drawing on yourself.

-So as long as it makes you happy and you'renot harming yourself, he's cool with it!

-Has definitely suggested you draw him and then act like he never said a thing, embarassed.
