Loris and Tatiana have very different ideas of what dancing means.

Also, this is a good demonstration of how the quality of improvised art compares to that of researched art.

Tiana here is really one of my first forays into dynamic posing, and the outcome has become one of my favorite pieces I've done in just pencil.

In the spirit of Halloween, I've decided to share with you all a WIP story concept I've been working on

called Slice of Death.

The story originally began as the fusion of two concepts: "I wish there were stories about people just living their lives but in a fantasy world" and "how would culture be impacted if ghosts were provably real and common?"

I'm currently working on two stories set in this universe, one slice-of-life focused, as the title suggests, and one with slightly... higher stakes.

I intended to make her African-American, but she has somehow come out very Indian. Art community of Tumblr, do you have any suggestions for how to tweak this?

Art Showcase I: A Locked Door

Do you believe in love after life?

A Locked Door was the first piece I made for my college art class. This is actually the sketch for the piece, as I wasn't very good at drawing on large canvasses at the time and wound up not loving the final product. I prefer to work on a relatively small area so I can focus on the entire thing at once.

Each student was given a brief prompt to guide their piece, mine being "His heart pounded. He was sure he had seen the doorknob turn".

I'm not sure why, but ghosts are a common motif in my visual and written works. This piece is an obvious example, but I also have a short story (which made it into my college art magazine alongside this piece) that features two ghosts, and I'm in the process of writing a story about a ghost who lives (un-dies?) in a world where their existence is widely known.

Another OC of mine, Loris!

They're a part of a story I'm working on that I've made occasional mentions to on here, called Slice of Death.

They're a passionate artist and a sassy sibling. They're close with a character I've previously posted a portrait of, named Tatiana (though Loris calls her Titanium).

The face-paint is something Loris wears while attending festive events, and is a common practice where they live.

Also, one of their closest friends is a ghost.

This is a pretty old sketch, but it's still one that I like.
