Genre/Warning: Fluff; Cafe au; slight school au; ft. Beakhyun
Summary: You meet a cute waiter at a cafe.
You were tired. You shouldn't have stayed at that party until midnight. Your friend warning you, but you didn't listen. Your head seemed to pound against your skull and you yawned.
You opened the door to your favorite cafe and grabbed a window seat. You had a few minutes to spared before school.
You forgot about that book report that is due today. The pain increased and you cursed yourself for not leaving your house with a pain killer. How could you have forgotten about the stinking book report?
"Hello, what can I get for you?”You turned to the left to see a guy with deep brown eyes and a bright smile on his face. He seemed to be around your age. His cheeks were chubby and his hair was pink. It looked soft.
“I'd like a Caramel Machiatto with an extra shot of expresso, please." You said with a smile. He wrote your order down and nodded.
“Anything else?” You shook your head and he placed the small notepad on the inside of his apron.
“Coming right up. My name is Jimin if you need anything else.” The waiter smiled once more before walking away.
You fished your phone from your pocket and browser through it. So far, Instagram was depressing you and Facebook was well on it’s way to do the same. You sighed deeply, feeling the sleepiness catching up to you.
You should have slept your ten hours, your mind seemed to say as you tucked your phone away in your pocket.
A big mug of Caramel Machiatto was set in your table seconds later, followed by Jimin giving you another bright smile. and He set down a piece of paper you can only assume to e the resciept before you smiled back at him.
"Caramel Machiatto. Your welcome." His voice was soft and you found yourself enjoying it.
"Uh, yeah, thanks. What's the paper for?"
"That's my number. If you ever want the to go option, call me." You felt yourself blush. He was being super nice to you.
"Do you say that to every girl?"
"Only the beautiful ones." Jimin winked and you felt yourself swoon.
"Jimin!" A male voice called out and he turned to the cash register.
"Stop flirting and help me." The voice called again and Jimin glanced apologetic at you before left. You glanced at your watch, and finished the rest of your hot drink before leaving the cafe.
You visited frequently. Chatting with Jimin about everything and anything for the next couple weeks. You saw Jimin as soon as you sat down by your usual window seat.
Weirdly, no one seemed to take that spot since you came in the cafe. Jimin apprached you with a smile on his face as usual. You smiled back.
"Why so lonely?" He asked, taking out his notepad from his apron.
"I'm actually waiting for someone, my boyfriend. Can you get me the usual?" His smile faded but he nodded.
"Yeah, sure." He walked away without his usual bright smile and you frowned. That was so unlike him. Did something happen to him? You suppose even a smiley person like him has off days.
"Beakhyun!" You exclaimed as soon as you saw your boyfriend. He looked cozy; a black trenchcoat, grey jeans and nice black dress shoes made him look huggable. And that’s exactly what you did, Beakyhun smiled and hugged you tightly.
“How are you? Are you on break?” You asked and he nodded.
“Yeah. Did you already order?” He asked you. You nodded and then Jimin appeared in front of both of you.
“Hello. What would you like, sir?” He smiled brightly at Beakhyun, but you had a hunch something was off about him.
After ordering, Jimin walked off. You turn to Beakyun and started talking about school. He listened, nodded and talked about his classes as well.
"Here you go. Enjoy." Jimin said as he put the drinks on the table. Beakhyun eyed the male before resuming his conversation with Nari.
"Thanks, Jimin." Jimin flashed her a smile and went on his way.
"You know him?" Her boyfriend questioned and she nodded.
"Yeah, we usually hang out when I'm getting ready for school. Or after school." She sipped her Caramel Machiatto. The hotness of the drink warming her insides.
"Really?" Nari raised her eyebrow.
"Yeah, don't you get jealous on me now. You know I like you." Both spoke for a few minutes until she had to leave.
You were tired, again. Beakhyung kept asking questions about Jimin and you were sick of it. He still didn’t believe you two were nothing more than frineeds. You sat down on your usual table and ran a hand through your hair.
"Hey. How are you? You look tired." Jimin asked as he took a seat in front of her. You flashed him a smile. Surely, he can help you on this one.
"I am. Beakhyun is as stubborn as they come."
"Ahh, you want your usual?"
"You have something stronger?"
"Black coffee? We don’t sell acohol." She nodded as he stood up and talked to the barista. He came back minutes later and sat back down.
"What do you mean he’s stubborn?"
She poured it all out. She told him everything from beginning to end and he just listened quietly. By the time she was finished, a mug of half empty black coffee was in front of her.
"Well, tell him. He needs to understand, doesn't he? Has he been jealous before?" Nari shook her head in disagreement.
"No, never. This is the first time and I don't know what to do."
"I can tell him for you. Make him understand we're nothing more than friends." Jimin said.
"Yeah, thats what friends are for, right?" She nodded and then gasped.
"Beakhyun." Jimin turned back and Beakhyun stood at their table.
"What is this?" He growled at Nari.
"It's a table. Care to join us?" Nari retorted
"Nah, It's fine. I don't want to interrupt your date."
"What date? We're just friends Beakhyun."
"Sure, tell that to someone who believes you."
"Beakhyung, listen to her. She loves you. I don't think she would ever-"
"No one's talking to you, waiter." Beakhyung barked at Jimin.
"Be nice Beakhyun. We're telling the truth." You were getting mad. You've never met someone so stubborn before, this wasn't your boyfriend.
"Really? Well, I'm done hearing it! I hope your happy with your new boyfriend." He pushed the door opened and walked away. Everyone was looking at them and she blinked back tears.
"Well then. I'm just gonna go." You stood up, gave Jimin his tip and walked out. Jimin being Jimin followed you out.
"Wait, Nari." You ignored him and kept walking. You hear footsteps shuffling and you covered your head with your hoodie. It was raining and you just wanted to go home.
"Nari." Jimin grabbed your wrist and you turned around.
"What, Jimin?" He didn't say anything. He just hugged you.
"I'm sorry." You hugged him back.
"Don't be. It wasn't your fault."
"But it is. I guess I wanted my happiness instead of yours. I like you a lot and I my selfishness lead to you two fighting. I'm sorry." What? He liked you? And he thought it was his fault?
"Oh, Jimin, I didn't know that." You held on to him, he held onto you tighter.
"I'm sorry. I'm-" Your lips on his cut him off. Maybe you needed to break up, to see what was right in front of you.
"Date me?" He whispered. You couldn't help but smile and tilted your head.
