Flash Fiction: “slightly warm” #day 1

cameras flashed, taking in every micro detail as i stepped in to the apartment. Nobody stopped me from entering the crime scene.. the apartment was well kempt, filled with comfortable chairs and low coffee tables and expensive looking vases and lamps. a huge bookshelf dominated the west side of the apartment. across from that a a television set lay shattered as if it had intentionally been picked up and slammed. on the north side of the apartment was a window with a gorgeous view, the ocean rippling in the distant.. A cozy chair and a small table were placed sideways in front of the window. A book lay open with a cup of tea, a slight steam issuing from it. i touched the cup, it was slightly warm. i nodded mentally, taking in the scene in its enormity.
