i do still like dawntrail more than stormblood

yes, one is written worse than the other but stormblood "committed the cardinal sin of boring me" through the majority of it and only really only picked up whenever fordola or zenos showed up. I would also say yotsuyu, but i think her base msq story is a detriment to her and she gets much better in the post msq line with her trial + asahi

#stb was just so uuuuggggghhhhhhh #yes the new area was cool and awesome and the content was probably great at the time of release #but the story #was just #slow?#it feels like it never picks up until the base msq is done imo #theres also so much stupid stuff u have to do in between #traversing the ruby sea being one of them #AWFUL map #thinking about it the two expansions share a similar structure (freeing doma #then ala mhigo; learning tullioylan customs #then alexandria's)#i think stormblood's problem is theres a lot of padding in between each major point of the story #whereas with dawntrail the boring stuff is mostly front loaded #cuz once u pass the skydeep cenote it picks up #not a great transition but its certainly more interesting than the first half
