More Paper Mario/Mario Story scenery based on NSMB2

Following up from my previous post is another one, this time based on New Super Mario Bros 2's World 2 desert. All props and textures were personally recreated with photo reference.

A scenic view of the formerly abandoned ruins. However, it seems some unsavory characters and wildlife have since claimed it!

Mario, Parakarry the Paratroopa, and Edwin the Slurple engage in battle with a Sombrero guy and his Panser girlfriends! While Mario's side will spank the quartet, you gotta wonder like those Pokeys and Clefts are...how did that Sombrero Guy get himself three gals?

The town is heavily surveilled by a large number of Bandits! ...except those two, since apparently the Red Bandit told the green one a dirty joke.

No characters in this shot. I just wanted to show more of the recreated totems and the pyramid.

so where i work we have a fun fact everyday, and today's was "no word in the english language rhymes with orange, month, silver or purple" about an hour into my shift, this kid, who must've been 5 or 6, reads the fact and goes "purple?!? there must be a rhyme for purple?!" he sits down in front of my whiteboard, thinking before jumping up and shouting "SLURPLE! SLURPLE RHYMES WITH PURPLE!!" and before i could explain that slurple wasnt a word, he sprinted off into the sunset. the end.

This is Slurple! The proud owner of one of the best names in the Mario universe, much like Borp. But this time, you will get an actual post to go with the funny name! 

So look at Slurple. Do you like it? I sure do. Anything with a sucker mouth is pretty delightful by default. And that’s a constant no matter what kind of eyes it has! Not that Slurple has mediocre eyes. It has Club Penguin eyes, and those are good eyes. I could have called them Sonic eyes, but I thought of Club Penguin first, and I write genuinely! This is the real me!

But why does Slurple have a sucker mouth? What is it going to suck? Why, Mario’s blood, of course! There’s no FLUDD or anything here, so the cutesy little parasites have to go for Mario’s health directly, and we all know that means blood. But Mario has many ways of healing himself, such as by collecting coins! Haven’t you ever wondered where coins go when Mario collects them? They just disappear and we don’t see him carrying them or anything. That’s because he instantly spends them on more blood! Mario is a healthy person.

The only bad thing about Slurple is that it isn’t purple. I would love for there to be a purple Slurple.
