The little guys
In httyd i feel like they Kinda ignored the other side of the dragon world. The little guys. In the book series HALF of all the dragons are little hunting/lap dragons. But in the show you have the terrible terror, night terror, smothering smokebreaths, fireworms, and hobgobblers. Thats it. So I'm gonna add some more!
Far too small to be ridden, they can usually be seen riding their owners instead. You can often tell the personality of a Viking based on their shoulder companion. Cave bubbler owners are often anti-social, all (subspecies) terror owners are often mischievous, and (the salamander one) are usually lazy or laid back. Commanding dragon hunter officers can be seen with their own pets. Their small size leads to them out of the way, less supplies taken up, and (usually) Not as valuable as their bigger cousins. This privilege must be earned and is very unusual.
