My OC in "The Freak Circus"
I finally drew an OC based on one of my favourite games, "The Freak Circus" by @nekoboydreams . I won't keep you waiting, let's get to the OC!
I apologize for any mistakes in the text, inconsistencies, poor image quality (maybe BIG Harlequin's OOC haha)
I'd like to point out that the character is a human, not a monster or a circus performer. I drew her as an acrobat for variety, hahaha
My brainchild's name is Zoe, she's 21 years old. She works at the same cafe as MC, but not as a barista, but as a waitress. Incidentally, Zoe and MC are best friends, not just colleagues!
Below you'll find a short story(?) in which I'll try to convey my Zoe's personality (sorry for my weird fantasy, i'm not a poet or writter)🤗
She doesn't just work at the café—she brings it to life.
Every cappuccino she serves is a small ritual of kindness.
Every laugh she elicits from her customers is no accident.
It's her way of saying, "You're not alone. I'm here. And I see you"
Zoe is pure, unpredictable and radiant.
She doesn't know what anger looks like on her face—because she's almost always smiling.
But if you look deeper, there are shadows in her eyes. Not heavy. Not gloomy.
Just… remnants of those moments when she gave too much, remained silent for too long, said "yes" too often, even when inside she was screaming "no."
She's never kissed. She's never known love in the romantic sense.
But she hugs as if she could absorb all the pain in the world.
Her embrace isn't just a gesture. It's a spell.
"I won't leave. You're safe"
She believes in honesty as a religion.
A lie isn't betrayal. It's death.
And if someone deceives her—especially someone close—she doesn't scream. She doesn't swear.
She simply… stops talking.
And then you realize: you've lost more than just a friend.
You've lost a light that won't come back on.
But…
…if you offend someone on her "team",
she'll get up.
Even if you're three times taller, stronger, louder.
She doesn't hit. She doesn't yell.
She simply looks you in the eyes and says quietly:
"You have no right"
And in that moment you understand:
This girl isn't fragile. She's impenetrable.
She jokes about everything: about how her cup dropped again, about how Harlequin put a piece of paper with the payment that read, "You are my favourite myth" about how she's afraid that someday her kindness will "end."
She laughs when she's afraid.
Because laughter is her shield.
And her sword.
And her prayer.
Harlequin.
He's her shadow, who's learned to speak.
He teases her, makes dirty jokes, and then suddenly whispers in her ear: "You think you don't know how to love? You're the purest 'love' in this city"
And she…
she blushes.
And she doesn't know what to do with it.
And that's the most touching thing about her.
Zoe remembers smells.
The smell of freshly baked bread is her childhood.
The smell of rain on the pavement is her comfort on bad days.
The scent of ylang-ylang—she wears it as essential oil on her wrist because a client once said, "You smell like peace"
... ... ... ... ... ...
She may be gentle.
But if you cross the line,
she won't scream.
She'll just… walk away.
And won't answer your messages.
Won't show up for work.
Won't tell you why.
And then you realize:
She didn't break.
She simply… chose not to be yours.
And that is her most terrible and most powerful act.
Oh my God, it's such a cringe haha, I'm 350% sure that Harlequin wasn't canon, even though he was mentioned a couple of times😔😔😔
Buttt tbh I really enjoyed creating the idea of my Zoe brainchild. If I had good inspiration and the ability to express my thoughts and ideas in a high-quality and beautiful way, then I would become a writer...
Aren't there special questions and the like that help reveal the characters' personalities? I saw this hashtag somewhere on Tumblr... Well, I think that someday I will try to make them with this OS
It would be cool if someone could advise me how best to do everything😮💨 Honestly, this is the first time I've described my character in such detail haha. I usually limited myself to his/her name and age, sometimes I also wrote down his/her orientation XD
BTW, a song that inspired me to create this character with exactly this personality is made by Monetochka😇😇😇
