Sunlit Skipper
Sunlight bringing out the bright orange in the wings of a small skipper butterfly, sitting on a bramble leaf in Twywell Plantation.
10th July 2024: Views and nice sky scenes at Lakeside Country Park and out the front, beautiful Goldfinch and Greenfinch in the garden, musk mallow, creeping thistle, red clover and hemp agrimony at Lakeside, steeplebush at home and a Lesser Black-backed Gull I got brilliant intimate views of at Lakeside. Hearing its wail evocative of the seaside today and it was nice to see it yawn too.
Other highlights today were Greylag and Canada Geese, Great Crested Grebe, Moorhens, top views of Long-tailed Tit, Small Skipper, Small White, dragonflies which I saw quickly and couldn't quite tell what species, melilot, bird's-foot trefoil, agrimony and wild carrot.
