Get a planner or some other time management device (that works for you)
This is a crucial step in starting to manage your time and daily life! Getting a planner or even a to-do list notepad can actually really help you in the long run in terms of time management! It may not seem like a lot, but trust me when I say that it will save your life! The reason a planner, bullet journal, or any other time management tool (that works for you) is so important is that it allows your to list your goals and tasks for the day and even allows you to keep track of important dates, such as test dates or even project due dates. But, make sure to find a system that works for you! I know that the aesthetic of the community and even the Bullet Journal is so tempting to want to have, but what is really important is the functionality of the system. If you are spending more time making whatever you’re using “pretty” rather than actually using it and getting things done, then you are just defeating the whole purpose of time management.
If you spend more time decorating or setting up your system rather than actually being productive or using the system, then try something else
I said this a little briefly above, but if you are spending more time making your planner or whatever pretty that actually using it then you should find a different system. The whole point of time management is to allow you to manage and track your time, while allowing you to easily find the tasks you need to do for the day. I know, I know that the community can make it seem like you have to bullet journal or even use a planner, but you don’t. What I’m saying is that the “prettiness” of the thing you’re using doesn’t matter, only if it actually works.
If you know about future dates (tests, due dates, etc.), write them down ASAP
This is a super important tip that I would highly recommend you all using! It has helped me so much, and I wished I knew this sooner! If you have any important dates, please just WRITE THEM DOWN!!! It will help you plan out your free time, and can let you know of an upcoming test or whatever. Guys, we’re human beings, and humans have the tendency to think we will remember every little thing when we actually will forget every little thing. Just trust me on this one, and write those dates down somewhere! It will prevent stress, or even cramming for something you were not prepared for/expecting!
Do your assignments ASAP or the day they are assigned. Don’t do them the night before they’re due or the day they’re due!
This tip kind of ties into procrastination, but please just do it now. I know how tempting it feels to procrastinate guys, but please we all know how bad it ends every single time. Just do your homework or whatever ASAP. This has so many benefits including going to bed early, reducing stress, prevents you being unprepared, last minute rushing, and/or even giving you even more free time! Just get it over with now, and I promise you that it’s better now than better later. YOU CAN DO IT!!! GET OFF TUMBLR, NETFLIX, INSTAGRAM, OR WHATEVER NOW AND LET’S ALL DO SOME PRODUCTIVE WORK!!!
Thank You for all the support guys! Please stayed tuned for the next advice post! Have an amazing school year and I know that you all are capable of doing the “impossible”! Bye guys!!!!!
