Prompt 31: Ending a kiss with a little nip to the lip.
“I cannot believe we are missing the MET Gala for this.”
You laugh, and turn to look at Lionel. He’s dressed in a suit and looks painfully out of place. While the man hadn’t been initially thrilled about your relationship with Lex, he had been trying to get closer to you and Lex since the wedding, and he tried to spend time with you and Lex regularly; something that never failed to baffle your husband.
You put your hands on your hips, “What do you mean? This is the annual Smallville County Fair. This is a time honored tradition and I haven’t missed one since mom and dad adopted me, which was three days after I was born.”
Lionel stares at you, and behind him Lex is trying really hard to not laugh, “So you’ve come to this fair every year? No matter what? You’ve never missed it?”
You shake your head, “Nope. When I was nine and had a hundred degree fever, we stopped by on the way to the hospital. When I was in college, I would drive back for it. The fair ended up getting rescheduled for two days before Lex and I were due back from our honeymoon, and I made him leave early.”
Lionel’s head whips around to look at his son, “You stopped traveling around Europe to come back for some rinky dink fair.”
Lex nods, “It’s a Kent family tradition.” Lionel’s eyes go wide as Lex sheds his outer jacket to reveal a sweatshirt, with the words “Kent Family Farm” on them, jeans, and tennis shoes. “What the hell are you wearing?”
“Well the Kents have a stand here. And in order for everyone to enjoy the fair, we take turns manning the stand and selling stuff. This is just the uniform. Don’t worry, Martha has one for you too.”
“Please tell me you’re lying.”
Lex wraps his arm around your shoulders, “Nope.”
Lionel lets out a little whimper, and you take pity on the man. “Come on Lionel. How about we play some games.”
It takes exactly three games for Lionel to start complaining about people being cheats, and the games being rigged. When you offer him some of the funnel cake you and Lex are splitting he gives you a health lesson, and by the time you reach your family’s stand he looks about ready to rip his hair out.
You get him settled in a chair, and suggest he check his email. That seems to calm him, as he connects with the world outside of Smallville. You head back to the front of the booth to find your dad handing money over to Lex.
“What in the world are you two doing?”
Your dad grumbles, “Your husband hustled me. I bet him twenty dollars that he couldn’t get Lionel out here and keep him here for at least two hours.”
Lex holds up three fingers, “He’s lasted for three, and only made one child cry. That’s a success in my book.”
Your dad shrugs, before saying, “Speaking of which, he’s been banned for next year.”
“I’m sure he’ll be devastated.” Any talk about Lionel ceases as your mother comes over. She and your dad head out to explore and you go to Lex. You tuck yourself into his side, and he says, “We didn’t come back from our honeymoon early. And we missed the last three of these things.”
“Yeah. But your dad tends to complain less if he thinks something is a tradition or is important to me.”
Lex laughs before swooping down to kiss you, he ends it with a little nip to your bottom lip, before resting his forehead against yours. “You are such a minx.”
You bite your tongue to keep from laughing. You can feel Lex’s eyes on you, and you know that people are keeping their distance from him. You’ll admit, the scowl he’s sporting is impressive. The fact that it’s keeping the ass kissers away says something too.
You finish up you conversation with your high school boyfriend, and head back to your husband. The suit he’s wearing is Italian. You slide your hand against his shirt, and under the lapel of his jacket so that it rests over his heart. You step into him, and his arm curls around your waist.
You take a second to tease him, “You’ve turned green with envy Lex.”
His voice is a grumble, “He was flirting with you.”
“You mean, while he showed me pictures of his wife and kids? I must have missed it.”
He rolls his eyes, and you bury your face in his neck, “i love you something fierce Lex
Luthor. Trust me when I say no man here has anything on you.”
He relaxes slightly. And you chuckle a little bit. “It’s not that funny.”
“It’s a little funny.”
His eyes soften, “You’re so amazing. And so beautiful. Sometimes I feel like everyone is just around the corner waiting to try and steal you away from me.”
You lean back and straighten his tie, “The key word there, is try Lex. I love you. I married you. And six months ago I gave birth to your daughter. I’m not going anywhere.”
You kiss his cheek, shoot him a wink, and head back out to make the rounds. You talk with some old high school friends, even a few teachers. When you’re satisfied, you make your way back to Lex and the two of you head home.
You enter the penthouse to find it quiet. That’s not too surprising. Marigold should be fast asleep if Lionel kept to the schedule. You both remove your heels, and as you move further into your home, near the bedrooms and the office, you hear Lionel speaking. You both peer into the office and find him in front of the computer with Marigold on his lap. He’s pointing things out to her on the computer and explaining highly technical financial terms.
You look at Lex, “Look. They’re bonding.” It’s said in dead pan tone. You and Lex had struggled to Marigold on a schedule, but for some reason none of her grandparents were able to stick to it. Not your parents, and apparently not Lionel.
“We need a nanny.” He moves into the room, “Dad, what are you doing?”
“Teaching my granddaughter about the stock market. We have to start young Lex. She’s the heir apparent. Even if you two have a boy she’s at the top of the line to take over.”
Lex looks back at you, with a bewildered expression. You shrug. He turns back to his dad, “Well at least we’ve said goodbye to the misogyny. Can I have my daughter please?”
Lionel’s brow furrows, “No. We’re not done.”
“It’s two hours past her bedtime. You’re done.” Marigold giggles as Lex steals her away. She kicks a little bit and stuffs a hand in her mouth. He pauses beside you, so you can kiss your daughter goodnight. He rolls his eyes, “Teaching a six month old about stocks. My father is ridiculous.”
“My father tried to teach her about wood working. It could be worse.”
“We need to move.”
Lionel rolls his eyes, “I’ll just follow you. No one’s stealing my grandbaby away. She likes me better anyways.”
“No she doesn’t!”
You watch as your father-in-law follows your husband out of the room and giggle. You had married into the epitome of a jealous family and it was hilarious.
AN: I actually want to try this trope with other characters like Hotch (age gap and divorcee with a kid), Bruce Wayne (Playboy),Tony Stark (Play boy/ seems like an alcoholic to the outside world), Steve Rogers (Grandfathers age too different). I might have to do a series. Let me know!
You knew this was going to be a problem. You knew it the moment you had first kissed him, you knew it when you decided to actually date him, and you knew it the moment you admitted you loved him. But that knowledge had never stopped you. You’d followed your heart straight into Lex Luthor’s arms despite knowing your father would throw a fit.
You had expected anger, ranting, and yelling, but you hadn’t expected this.
“Excuse me?”
“I said get out!”
You stare at your father. Jonathan Kent had been your father from the time you were three days old and he and Martha had adopted you. And he had been a good father. He had loved you, and taught you, and stood by you. And now? Now he was telling you to leave your childhood home because you had fallen in love with someone he didn’t like.
You bite the inside of your cheek, and grab your purse. You hear your mother call your name, but you don’t stop. You head out the screen door and towards your car. You can hear your mother crying and yelling at your father. You’re just grateful that Clark is out with friends. You can only imagine how much worse it would have been if he’d been there. He would have tried to defend you, tried to defend Lex, and you imagine that probably would have been enough to make your father’s head explode.
You drive home to your apartment: numb. And you pause outside the door. As you expected the light is on, and you can hear the TV and smell something cooking. You unlock it and step in to find Lex in the kitchen chopping something, and watching the football game on the TV. He pauses as he sees you.
And then he’s moving towards you and you run to him. The moment you’re safely in his arms the tears finally come. He holds you tight, tucking your head under his chin, his arms wound around you as a hand rubs up and down your back. “I’m so sorry.” He repeats those words over and over again.
And finally you shake your head. He loosens his hold on you enough that you can wiggle your hands up and cup his face. Your voice is rough thanks to the tears, “This isn’t your fault. You are not your father. And he’s blind if he can’t see that.”
He opens his mouth to protest and you kiss him to stop it. His lips move against your and when you break apart he leans his forehead against yours. You know he feels guilty, even though he shouldn’t, because you know the truth. You know the pain Lionel had inflicted on his son. You know that Lex never wanted the extravagances he’s been granted. You know that he’d rather hang out in your small apartment than in the mansion his father purchased. You know he’d rather cook you dinner than take you to some overpriced restaurant. And you know that he’s grateful to have found someone who loves him for him and not his money.
Lex watches you while you sleep. He has a million plans running through his mind. Plans to get the two of you out of Smallville, and away from your toxic fathers. He wonders if there’s a way to take Clark and Martha with the two of you.
He has his own income, income and companies completely separate from his father. And those businesses make more than enough to support the two of you and the future you’ve discussed; a house in a different small town, a couple of kids, and life together. He also knows that it would hurt you, to not have your family around. He needs to fix this.
With that in mind, he slips out of bed and heads towards your family farm. He isn't surprised to find Mr. Kent outside on the porch. And the glare he gets isn’t unexpected. But before the man can start he holds up his hand to stop the oncoming rant. He’s very plain in his speech, “I’m not here to fight. I’m here to tell you how things are. I’m in love with your daughter, and she’s in love with me. We’ve been together for over a year, and I’m not letting her go . . . and that’s with her blessing.
“We have plans. Plans to get out of this town. Plans to stay away from my father. And those plans can involve staying away from you . . . the same way you stay away from Martha’s father. So, you can continue on this way, mad that she chose me, mad that I’m my father’s son. That’s fine. Just keep in mind you won’t see us again, because I won’t let you hurt her again. I refuse to have her come home and cry because of things you said.
“She is the love of my life. And if I have my choice she’ll be my wife soon. And one day we plan to have kids. And I want you to know them and for them to know you, but if you hurt her again I’ll find a way to make sure that doesn't happen. It’s my job to protect her, and our future family. Even from her own father.”
There’s anger in Mr. Kent’s eyes but Lex feels like he’s made his point. “I recommend thinking on it.”
With that, he turns around and heads back to his car. When he gets back, you’re waiting for him on the couch. You look up at him with sad eyes, and he gives you a small smile, “I talked with your dad. Well, not with . . .I talked at your dad. I told him I didn’t like him making you cry, and that where our relationship with him went from here was up to him. I don’t want to see him hurt you again. Ultimately that’s up to you, but . . .”
You smile at him, and then launch yourself into his arms. You’re more than capable of handling your dad by yourself, but it’s nice to know you have someone in your corner, that you have a partner. And you swear to yourself, that you’ll do the same for Lex the next time you see Lionel.
Imagine dating Lex Luthor or Bruce Wayne on a date and before they get a chance to pay their date just pays it before them. Especially someone who may not be well off in general but they are very giving and likes to pay for things or treat the people they care about.
Like they are shocked bc most of their dates assume that the rich man will pay, which is usually true, but they like that they did that. It makes them feel like they are actually there for them and not their money bc who actually pays for a billionaires' meal or coffee?
Prompt: When Lex meets and befriend’s Clark older sister, things drastically change. And you, you’re just along for the ride.

“Could you look, I don’t know, a little less giddy about this?”
Your brother is all smiles, “I really can’t. I love Lex, he’s like a brother to me, but you know dad is going to hate this. That means I’m the favorite from here on out.”
You toss a pillow at him, and scowl when he just lets it bounce off his head. “Clark, I need some support. I need you in my corner!”
“I know, but it’s not like I have any pull. He won’t even let me play football. You need mom in your corner, and she’s okay with Lex.”
You purse your lips, “Lex has a lot of money. Maybe we could disappear and then dad would never find out.”
“Dad would find out, and then he’d track you down. Look, it’s not going to be pretty. You just need to rip the bandaid off.”
You collapse backwards onto your couch. The two of you hadn’t even been on an official date yet, and you were already fighting to keep the relationship going. Clark nudges you, “And you should do it sooner, rather than later. You know how Smallville gossip works, and if he’s really blowing off a party with his dad to chaperone a school dance with you . . .”
You look up at him with pleading eyes, “Kill me, please..”
Your baby brother rolls his eyes, and before you can blink, he tosses you over his shoulder, and carries you to your car. Hanging limp like a ragdoll does nothing, and you curse his alien DNA for giving him super strength. He deposits you in the passenger's side, and he drives.
With your maturity levels reversed for the time being, you pout the entire way to your parent’s house, and when you get there, he’s forced to drag you inside. He pushes you through the back door a little more forcefully than planned, and it sends you careening into the kitchen counter where your dad is fixing some car part, and your mom is cooking dinner.
You don’t even get a chance to say hi before Clark says, “Y//N has some big news to share.”
Your mom smiles, “Yeah? What’s going on.”
“I’ve decided to go ahead and kill Clark.”
Your dad snorts, “I don’t think that possible sweetheart.”
Clark grins, it’s the annoying younger brother grin, that says you had your chance, “Yeah, if Lex’s car couldn’t take me out, I doubt you can.” Your eyes go wide and you launch yourself at him. Clark starts laughing, as he avoids the hand you’re attempting to slap over his mouth, “Speaking of Lex. He and Y/N started dating. He’s even blowing off a party of his dad’s to chaperone the high school dance with her.”
You slide down, your eyes narrowed at your baby brother. You will have your revenge, but right now you need to face down your father. His jaw is hanging open, and he’s blinking a lot. Your mother on the other hand is continuing on like nothing’s happened. When she catches you staring she says, “I called this no less than two months ago. Ask your brother.”
Your head whips back to stare at your brother, and he gives you a shit eating grin. Little turncoat knew your mother would be fine and didn’t say anything. You turn back to your dad and wave a hand in front of his face. There’s still no reaction, you turn back to your mom and she shrugs, “If it helps, he’s done some version of this every time you’ve started dating a boy. You were just too busy rushing out of the house to see.”
You hook a thumb over your shoulder, pointing towards the door, “Permission to rush out of the house now?”
“Granted.”
You stick your tongue out at Clark as you go by, he just smiles, and then climb into your car. Lex is waiting outside your door when you get home. He smiles at you and then he sees the scowl, “What’s wrong.”
You unlock the door, “We hate my brother now?”
“We both hate your brother?”
“Yep.”
“Can I ask why I’m now hating your brother.”
You turn with a flair, “Because he’s a sneaky little brother, who knew my mom would be fine with us dating and didn’t tell me. Instead he dragged me out of my apartment like a rag doll, because he’s freakishly strong, I blame all the summers working on the farm, and I had to tell my dad. He was in a catatonic state when I left.” You collapse on the couch.
Lex smiles, “We knew he wouldn’t be happy.”
You pat the seat next to you, and he settles there, “Yeah, but my mom also said he’s been like this everytime I mentioned a boy. So . . . maybe it isn’t that bad?”
“So, can I cancel that small army I hired to protect me?”
You cup his cheek, “I wouldn’t.”
He rolls his eyes, and you smile at him, you thumb chasing a pattern from the corner of his mouth to halfway to his ear. The next time your thumb gets close he gives it a quick kiss.
You smile and lean forward to kiss him properly, when you pull back you mumble a hello to him, “Hi there.”
“Hi back.” He pecks your lips again, “Any chance I can interest you in dinner?”
“Are you cooking or treating?”
“Which would you prefer.”
You stand up and pull him with you, “Let’s go out. We can be all coupley and freak out the townsfolk.” Lex just laughs.
You do indeed get quite a few stares as you walk down mainstreet. Your hand is tucked into the crook of his arm and every once in a while he’ll lean down to whisper something in your ear or press a kiss to your temple. He’s surprisingly affectionate, you didn’t expect that after meeting and hearing stories about Lionel.
You figure out, halfway through dinner, that he’s touch starved; he’s looking for that physical affection, and you’re happy to provide it. You sit next to him and occasionally place your hand on his thigh, or press your leg up against his. The night ends with the two of you making out on the couch of your apartment.
He finally starts pulling away at about eleven o’clock. You wine a bit about it, “Don’t go.”
“Trust me. I wish I could say, but since I’m skipping the party this weekend, I have to go meet with Lionel tomorrow. That means leaving at like six in the morning, doing two days of meetings, and speeding back here to pick you up in time.”
You grin, “Look at you being all chivalrous.”
He pecks your lips one more time, “I’ll call you tomorrow, if Lionel doesn’t kill me first.”
You wish him luck as he leaves, “Try to stay not dead!”
He does manage to stay alive, and you get a phone call from an exhausted Lex the next day. He doesn’t say a word about his father, which surprises you. And instead the two of you talk about the plan for the dance Friday. You decide to put dinner off until afterwards, and then go into town and hit the local bar. You both decide to bring a spare change of clothes. After that decision is made and he’s called into another meeting with a sigh.
You’ve just hung up when there’s a knock on the door. You’re not surprised to find your father on the other side. He looks more than a little antsy, and he looks somewhat relieved when you invite him in.
“You want something to drink?”
“Tequila?”
You scoff, “You can’t handle anything stronger than a beer and you know it.”
Your dad’s lips twitch, “True . . . I’ve never been good with you dating. Your mom calls me over protective, but . . . actually it’s true. I am over protective. And the fact that you’re dating a Luthor. . .”
You lean against the counter, “He’s not his dad. I know you have a hard time seeing past that, but I need you to trust me on this.”
“I do trust you, I just don’t trust him . . .”
You cross your arms against your chest, “I’ve never understood that phrase. I mean . . . if you trust me, that means you trust my judgement, that means you trust Lex because I trust him.”
Your dad squints at you, “You should have been a lawyer.”
You push off the counter and go to wrap your arms around him, “I’m asking that you give him a chance. Please.”
When he gives a hesitant nod, you beam at him, “Thank you.”
When Friday night rolls around, you have to race home from the school to get ready for the dance. You finish your hair, and zip into your dress right as Lex knocks on the door. You open it slightly out of breath, and go up on your toes to give him a kiss, “Hey?”
He smiles and steps in, closing the door behind him, “Hey yourself. Why are you out of breath.”
“I’ve been moving at warp speed. Had to rush home to get ready, and I don’t look half bad if I say so myself.”
“You look gorgeous.”
You smile and lean up to kiss him again, slightly longer this time, with slightly more pressure. “Thank you. You look very handsome yourself.”
“You sure I look okay? I feel a little underdressed.”
You squint, “This is a public, Kansas high school. Slacks, and a button up are perfect.”
“I’ll take your word for it.”
You drive to the dance in your car, because Lex’s car would be a beacon for senior pranks. You arrive a little bit before the students and as you walk in Lex is making you laugh, “So, if students get too close while dancing, can we go up and remind them to leave room for Jesus? Or do we get a ruler to measure the distance with?”
“No. We just keep them from making out, and try to make sure no one spikes the punch.”
“I had that mastered in high school.”
You roll your eyes, as music starts playing, and the first excited students trickle in. It’s mostly freshmen at first, excited or their first ‘real’ dance. They giggle and flirt around the punch bowl and the snacks but there’s no dancing yet, and you don’t expect there to be until the upperclassmen arrive.
For the most part the two of you stay off to the side and talk. You catch Clark’s eye as he enters with Chole, and he steadily ignores you. He still has payback coming his way.
You get to dance a few songs with Lex, slow ones where his private school dance lessons really shine, and you snuggle in close while you move together. It’s really nice. There’s only one attempt to spike the punch, and Lex is the one who catches it. You can tell he hates it.
He confirms it as you’re walking down mainstreet after the dance is over, on your way to get something to eat, “I just. . .I felt like a narc.”
His arm is wrapped around you, and one of your hands is settled against his chest, “Because you are. You’re a grownup, you’re trying to make sure no one gets hurt. While I have little doubt the upperclassmen can handle the booze, the underclassmen would probably have ended up sick.”
“You’re just trying to make me feel better, cause this means I’m old. I’m a grownup, with responsibilities, and that’s just depressing.”
You try to hold your laughter back, “We can always pick up a coloring book and some crayons, and head back to my place and build a fort.”
“That actually sounds like fun.”
“Fine by me, but food first.”
He presses a kiss to the top of your head and says, “As you wish, my dear.”
Of course! Lex deserved better and I intend to deliver!!!

Prompt 23: carrying the other one in their arms
“Why is, that when YOUR father throws a party, I end up in ridiculously painful and expensive heels?”
Lex smirks, “Because the last time you showed up in flats we heard about it for six months.”
“Thaaaat’s right. Your father is evil.” When Lex doesn’t dispute the statement you wink at him, and he just wraps an arm around your waist and pulls you flush against his front.
“Thank you for coming tonight.” His lips settle right next to your ear, and then start making a path up your jaw. When he places a kiss on the corner of your mouth he realizes you’re wincing.
He straightens, “Baby, are they hurting that bad?”
“Yeah. I’m not going to be able to walk tomorrow at this rate.”
He frowns, you usually joked about how uncomfortable the shoes were for whatever outfit his father’s stylist picked out, but you had never shown actually signs of pain.
He’s quick to squat down and lift the hem of your dress. He removes the left shoe and then the right, and you let out an audible sigh of relief. He leaves you for just a second to stuff the shoes in a trashcan. When he returns, he can still see hints of pain your face.
He’s quick to scoop you up into his arms, and you let out a little squeal, “Lex. What are you doing?”
He smiles, “Sweeping you off your feet.” And you can’t help but melt.
You’ll already asleep by the time he gets home. These late nights have been happening more and more lately and Lex hates it. He’d much rather be home at a reasonable hour, eat dinner with you, and then cuddle on the couch. His father is not making that possible.
There’s a lone light on in the den when he walks through the door, and he can hear your soft snores. He smiles at the sight of you on the couch. You’re dressed in the Smallville High Hoodie you had gotten him for your first anniversary, and covered by one of the throw blankets.
He toes off his shoes before walking over and kneeling beside you. He brushes a strand of hair away from your face before leaning forward and kissing your brow.
Your eyes flutter open, and he smiles, “Hey there sleeping beauty.”
You give him a sleepy smile, “Hi baby.”
“Let’s head to bed.”
You nod, and he helps you stand, and with an arm around your shoulders he guides you to bed.
