So Charlie walks in today and says his pitching coach thinks he’s throwing five miles an hour harder already. Yes it’s anecdotal.......well not even, it’s just talk. At this point I’ll take it. It’s something to build on. Today we crushed Charlie’s legs, his drive leg to be specific. We broke out an old school ab drill. We used to call this THE AB WHEEL OF DEATH 💀 during spring training. At @smartensetraining it’s nameless so far. It still works great 👍🏾 though. Charlie keep it my dude. ⚾️🏋️‍♀️🔥💥☄️. ☝️ more thing. I received a question from a IG follower. So I decided to hit up a guy that knows a things or two about throwing 90+. Heath”Heater” 🛎. One of most dominant closers in the game from 2009-2011. Heath will talk throwing 90+. We’ll confirm the day and time tomorrow it will be this week. I’m so proud of my man Phillip. He had a traumatic surgery on his right leg close to a year ago. This “track start” video sums up his progress. His arm action alone has come along way. He is approaching complete triple extension and he’s even starting to get his knees up. As a Coach there is no better feeling than seeing your athlete exceed your expectations. In travel baseball you’re a free agent until you’re not. I can’t wait to see where he is next spring. Keep working Phillip. Lastly, all day Saturday I went on a baseball journey. I attended two of the top travel baseball facilities in the area. @eastcobb and @lakepoint . I met a lot of nice people who love their travel baseball. I watched @smartensetraining get a win. I also gave you guys some pointers on nutrition and shoulder care. Today’s exercise of the day was the slide board/pad back lunge. This exercise is great for creating glute stabilization. It also mimics running 🏃‍♀️ and stair climbing and studies show the glutes are very active during these two movements. When performing this exercise make sure you drive through the heel of the front foot as you return to the standing position. Make sure you click the You Tube link in the description to see my latest glute video. This video is good aesthetically if you want to improve the appearance of your glutes . The video also teaches a little you “glute science.” You’ll learn the science behind glute movements and how the glutes prevent injury. Single Leg Straight Leg Deadlift. I'm a big fan of hip hinge movements and training the hammies eccentrically. Such movements are necessary for hamstring health over any sports season. This young man in the last video is a absolute stud. He had a major surgery on his right leg and shows up once a week and gives everything he has for an hour.
