My celll phone died yesterday. No sooner did I hang up from a nice call with my daughter than it decided to reboot itself. Annoying but nbd, right? Except that it got stuck on the MetroPCS screen, And just stayed there until it ran out of power, regardless of what I did to it,
Once I finally got a human being on the phone at the cell phone insurance company (which took some doing, let me tell you!), I got good news and bad news. The good news is that my phone is still under warranty, and they’ll replace it at no cost. The bad news is that I probably won’t have the replacement phone until Tuesday. Ack! Four days with no smartphone! What am I gonna do? How will I manage?!
I use my phone for everything except really big spreadsheets. I have an expense manager app that I use every day, I have an app to keep in touch with my doctor, another to track my food and water intake (I’ve lost 33 pounds since May!). In my Travel category alone, I have Lyft and Uber (of course), plus 2 apps that tell me when the next bus is coming, and another which tells me which bus to take. I keep my calendar and contacts on my phone, plus I have a clock app that lets me set all my alarms (from when to feed the cats to when to take my meds or get ready for work (not counting when to get up in the morning).
See what I mean? How am I gonna manage without my phone? Some of the things I do I can do online, and I set up a spreadsheet to capture my income and expenses until I can get my new phone up and running. But I feel naked without my phone. It.s almost always within arm’s reach, in fact it’s sitting next to me right now, but it’s a brick.
I’ll manage somwhow, but I’m not gonna like it. I didn’t like it when my last phone did this same stunt(!) in the spring, and I had to wait 3 days for my new phone.
