It was going to be a blood bath.
Ban was tersely reporting the number and classes of the squadron as he tracked the incoming detachment. Josser kept cursing under his breath while he patched up the other half of their fire team.
Through the crackle of his comm he could hear the murmuring of a room full of Jedi, all still playing that damn chessboard game of how many of his brothers their could afford to lose when they all go silent. For a minute Ban almost thinks the clankers cut the comms but then he hears the room startle into sound again before it actually clicks off.
Then, all he can feel is pressure. Like the gravity shifted and its pulling everything into the dirt. He flashes a look over to Josser and by the white in his eyes, it's not just Ban feeling it.
The weight grows, slowly, smoothly rolling over them like being under the ocean back in the facility. And Ban sees a man.
At first, he thinks it's a dream, like he's dead and this is just the sick joke the universe gave him before ban disappears. but jossers hard breath and whits muffled prayers mean, they see him too.
The weight follows him, a slight man, maybe a bounty hunter by the wreck of his clothes is walking across the air. He's only floating maybe 10 feet up, but it's enough to be in clear view of every shiny new clanker in that valley.
The weight for just a moment is impossible to bear, as the man walks by Ace teams forward scout post.
Then it's swept past them completely rushing into the valley like a tsunami.
As the man walks forward that vast force FLATTENS every droid insight. Ban watches, mouth agape as the land speeder slams into the earth and then INTO it. Whatever that force is completely negating the planter's own electromagnetic field.
Then it's over. The incompressible weight vanished, leaving only a glittering field of shattered droids and a man with both boots in the dirt.
Ban has been cursed among his brothers with a stellar memory. He remembers the taste of the batca before they were decanted. It's never given him anything but horrifyingly accurate nightmares and a shit detail as a first class scout.
This moment, of watching a man crush an entire army of droids tho? Ban will treasure it all of his short life.
>Not narrative but for me: like arrives, learns they aren't even sentient robots, and crushes them without hesitation.
Afterwards, he helps evac the forward teams and stays for 3-4 days assisting in deprogramming the rest of the clone detachment there.
hes on planet to receive a drop from one of his contacts. The battle was something he noticed along the way.
the Jedi are more horrified. The clones get over it on e they MEET Luke. The Jedi don't even realize Luke's been staying with the Clones until the night before he leaves. These clones didn't even need their other brother's endorsement after Luke helped bring the scout teams back and after the command corp learn he's the one that helped debug the chips (they know about it they just haven't crossed paths with any carriers yet) he's 100% theirs.
a few of them end up back with first squad and once Leia gets wind of a New Luke Shenanigan, one of the most powerful senate advisors sneaks down with her honor guard for good liquor and to get the whole story. Leia roundly curses Luke for being a giant reckless jackass and all the clones agree
a few more of these clones end up on Leia's Luke Extraction Squad, and post Luke Recovery, they decide they are his honor guard (they will not be taking no for an answer, Luke still hasn't figured out how they keep up. Leia hasn't either for that matter)
the Jedi back at the temple at first don't believe it, but there was of course video and it's pretty impossible to have that much shattered droid WITHOUT something insane happening. Anikin is just like "yeah, that makes sense. I probably would have done something similar if I wasn't so attached to my saber" the counsel is Horrified and like they always do, they try to appeal to Tradition. But Luke (post extraction, very tired) simply states "the force is all, it has no traditions, only habits enforced by others" which is a koan that shuts up everybody in the hall
most of them just can't figure out how that didn't ping The Force Network (the secret being that Luke and Leia's grasp of the force is so wide spread and so deeply in tune with them that it takes quite literally Them Crossing Space Time or their own consent for others to read them, it's why Leia can almost constantly be in the force without it registering and how Luke can physically manifest it at will without strain) (the clones AND mandolorians notice it tho. Luke and Leia can't hide from beskar or force crystal, they feel like natural disasters. Like the force of god. The bounty crews don't mess with Luke.)
