THEN I got sideswiped by a text message & had to phone a friend about it. Dang emotions [shakes fist]

I finally got a kinda apology. I said thank you. They said, "you're welcome"

So, obviously to me at least, this means they don't have anything else to say thus returning us to the Silence of before. Which is fine. It just reinforces to me that they really don't miss me or care all that much about our friendship. I truly wonder what ping'd them to remember me at all. Especially since it doesnt seem like they had any real intentions to idontknow actually hangout or anything.
It's probably a little conceited/rude of me, but the thing I hate most about this particular friendship ending is how much goddamn time I wasted. Especially since I was sick for so much of the time we were friends. I spent my very limited energy caring so goddamn much, and yet?
Context: prior to today they had not spoken to me in almost a year. A Year of fucking silence followed by an apology I had to ask for
