Ah I try not to play favorites but!

Lion Birds - This is my sorting, so it’s cheating, but it’s true! I love Lion Bird characters and relate to them all the time! Rapunzel, Percy Weasley, Sarah Williams, Hermione Granger, Marinette Dupain-Cheng it’s a thing. 

BADGER BIRDS - oh my gosh this is probably just because I adore Nausicaa so much but Badger Birds done right are amazing and beautiful and powerful, and they usually end up being morally complex. I just adore them. This also might be because I briefly went on a crusade to find more Badger Birds, which I would love to do for Bird Snakes and Badger Snakes but currently I haven’t been able to work up the energy. 

Bird Lions - I just think they’re really neat.

Snake Lions - I don’t know WHY I love them so much but I do. They’re surprisingly compelling. And thanks to stupid Les Mis they are now the most common sorting. 

Bird Snakes - I think I more like the IDEA of Bird Snakes but the one Bird Snake I sorted correctly-Schmendrick-made me love them at their best (and just so you know, Schmendrick IS a Bird Snakes at their best). 

Honorable mention goes to Double Lions, because I love a surprising amount of Double Lions, but I also hate a lot of Double Lions. An honorable mention also goes to Lion Snakes, you guys are great I’m sure but Elizabeth Swann and Jack Sparrow spoiled me so now all other Lion Snakes are just a disappointment. Snake Badgers also get a mention because y’all are great but I have a post lined up about y’all and also you guys can be very annoying. Another honorable mention goes to Snake Birds, y’all motherfuckers are compelling as FUCK, especially you JARETH.

Top 5 Snake Badgers?

Oh, the Lover sorting. The sorting of LOVE.

(If you’re confused as to why I’m calling it the sorting of love it’s because writers will often write love interests or hetero life partners as being mainly motivated around their lovers/friends and they’ll also be Badger secondaries because they’re main job is the push up the protagonist.)

Jaskier - I didn’t expect him to top this list, but a lot of these characters I wouldn’t put at the top of my favorite characters list. Jaskier is just a delight, and it may be because I always have a soft spot for dumb bitches but he’s great. 

Barbossa - He’s just...great lmao. I don’t like him as much as in the later films but this guy is great. You can’t not love him!

Tiana - I almost hesitate to call her a Snake primary, but I don’t know if Lion would fit so I’ll call her a Snake primary. She’s just such a good character, and a rare protagonist Snake Badger. 

No Face - Doesn’t have a lot of character so he’s lower, he’s mostly here because I love how he just IS a Snake Badger, the physical embodiment of Snake Badger. He reflects people and does his best to give them exactly what they want (and he’s hardworking shown by him sewing with Zeniba) and he’s completely motivated by finding love and a place to belong, and he only wanted to be in the bath house because of Chihiro. Perfect example of both an exploded Snake Badger and a healthy Snake Badger. 

Prince Lir - I don’t LIKE him, but he is an interesting example of Snake Badger since he’s off set by his Snake Bird father who is a VERY burnt and also maybe exploded Snake (Dean Winchester sets a precedent that you CAN be burnt and exploded at the same time so it’s possible).
