(I probably won't tag anyone else or make new questions, but I'll play a bit...)
RULE #1 ALWAYS POST THE RULES.
RULE #2 ANSWER THE QUESTIONS THE PERSON WHO TAGGED YOU ASKED, THEN WRITE 11 NEW ONES.
RULE #3 TAG 11 PEOPLE THE LINK THEM IN THE POST. SO THEY CAN ANSWER THE NEW QUESTIONS.
1. What is your passion?
Animal rights, animal welfare, and conservation, but with a slant towards pet ownership.
2. Do you like being indoors or outdoors the best?
From about 0°C to 25°C, outdoors. Indoors outside of that temperature range.
3. What is your favourite movie?
I don't really have one, as I'm not a movie person (people are often surprised I haven't seen [Their Favourite Movie]). I'm pretty fond of the Marvel "Avengers" series.
4. What fictional character would be your perfect best friend?
I know of no fictional character with the capacity to talk about the same things I do and yet leave me completely the fuck alone for long stretches of time. Sherlock Holmes might do, if he can feign interest in snakes.
5. Any books/TV shows/movies you are looking forward to coming out?
The next season of Sherlock. Coincidentally enough.
6. Who do you look up to?
The person from whom I obtained my indigo has been a mentor to me in many ways, and a lot of my snake-keeping philosophy is based around their no-nonsense common-sense approach to keeping.
7. How do you relax?
Knit, read, photograph, write, rant, clean snake cages.
8. What do you like most about yourself?
My capacity for loving kindness, when I can exercise it.
9. First thing you notice when meeting a new person?
Their affect.
10. Favourite artist?
I prefer specific works of art to artists.
11. How are you doing?
Enjoying my usual morning headache. It is a tradition.
NEW QUESTIONS
1. What is the craziest experience you’ve had to deal with, owning snakes/reptiles, or pets/animals in general?
When I was younger, I owned a 7' Boa constrictor imperator, a common boa female. She was wonderful, very gentle and as 'trustworthy' as a snake gets (I still love and miss her to this day). We lived in a rental house in a province in which boas were entirely legal, and one day, I had her out on the front lawn so I could take some pictures of her; my three year old goddaughter and my mother were with me at the time. All of a sudden, an RCMP patrol car pulls up and two officers get out and begin wondering, out loud, how they were going to "get it in the trunk" (bear in mind I was handling the snake at the time, it wasn't just rolling around unsupervised). Well, I asked them what they meant, and it turned out the neighbours across the street had called in an "escaped snake" to the police. I explained that it was my pet, and the officers and I talked for a while (they petted her and all) before they left. After that, the other two people went inside and the neighbour came across the street and threatened me (I was about sixteen) by telling me he was going to have me evicted and so forth.
I learned two things that day: one, do not bring your snakes out in public, and two, some people are thoroughgoing bullies who ought to be taken out to a deserted island in the North Atlantic and left there for the rest of their miserable little lives.
If you had no limit to money, where you would like to have your dream home located?
On the northeastern coast of North America, Newfoundland or below.
Do you prefer card games or board games?
Board games.
Of the one you chose for #3, what game is your favorite to play?
House on Haunted Hill.
Is there anything your family does that you thought was perfectly normal until you started staying with friends?
Not really. Every family is fucked up somehow.
Do you have a favorite outfit, or a favorite decoration in your house?
I like snake cages as a decoration. Aside from that, I have a lot of art on the walls (my own photography and other prints), I'm fond of that.
What are some of your least favorite foods?
Anything with a slimy texture. Kimchi. But I really hate it when other people bring pungent foods to a public place. Respect others.
What was the craziest thing you remember doing when you were younger?
I've always been a very tame person.
Did you accomplish a goal this year, and if so what was that goal, if you mind sharing?
After getting the "Indigo Ownership" achievement, I'm kinda done. I guess I survived the death of a beloved family member, that's something.
Is there a pet you’d never own again?
Rabbit. Too heartbreaking. What with GI stasis and E. cuniculi and everything else, I would sooner drag myself over broken glass than own another rabbit.
What part of your life do you find the most solice in?
My relationship with my husband and my animals.
